Hotel was really busy and bustling, family friendly. An historic atmospheric hotel - we occupied the room stayed in by Queen Victoria! The Woodlands Bistro served great food! Breakfast was good even for a vegetarian! The residents lounge upstairs was restful with a view of the Hotels secret garden! Despite the cold outside we had a great time in Dunkeld... More

A few days break with the dog as this a very Dog friendly Hotel. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent. All staff friendly and really helpful. No problem in recommending this to anyone wanting to see this area of Scotland. We had a room at the back which was very quiet.

Stayed in this hotel whilst going to the Ryder Cup 2014 at Gleneagles. Very comfortable and relaxing stay, great breakfast and friendly staff. A cooked breakfast would have been nice on the morning we left but unfortunately we had to leave for the train at 7am and they didn't serve cooked breakfast that early. I would recommend this hotel if... More

Eight walking friends for the weekend and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel has quaint aspects (including the resident's lounge) but was clean and warm. Good value (we had chosen the DB&B deal) and a great location for walking and enjoying the beauty of the gateway to the highlands. We enjoyed the busy bar and the food was... More

There were 8 of us staying, rooms varied from medium to medium/small they had all the normal equipment (including WiFi) and the rooms were clean and all the fittings worked. My accommodation did not have a bath but the shower was very good, not one of those weak electric jobs. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding,... More

We ate here, so i don't know about the rooms. We came because our teenager fancied the "Royal bangers and mash", probably because she and I had had a giggle about the oxymoron. The food was OK but not special. I was pleased that they had lamb's liver on the menu, I always like that and I did this time,... More

We stayed in the annex. Very good value for money. Dunkeld is a beautiful place and this hotel is most certainly part of the character of the town. They didn't mind the dog, the room was clean and comfortable and there were 3 choices on the menu for veggies. There were even veggie sausages for breakfast. next time I stay... More

Lovely window boxes on outside but sadly made for rather dirty , cobweby windowsills on the inside. The bedroom and corridor floors made a terrible creaking and the tv was the tiniest old type that i have ever seen. On the plus side the dinner and breakfast was fine and staff were very friendly. Dunkeld a good place to see... More

We stayed at the Royal Dunkeld on our way up to and back from the the north of Scotland. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the restaurant served good unpretentious food at pretty good prices. The hotel is showing signs of age but is really very good value for money.
