We visited after booking at the last minute due to The Royal Tattoo in Edinburgh and festivals in Glasgow. There were no other available rooms! Unsure of ferry schedules, we took the drive along Gare, Long, Fyne, Eck and Holy Lochs through two national parks. The ride was wonderful. Upon arrival, the proprietor-owner was friendly and helpful, and the pub... More

Welcome back all who read my reviews. My Polski Princess decided to stay in the UK this trip and booked this hotel from the view it portrays in the pictures however a view doesn,t make a good visit. Like Heather M, we arrived to not only a deserted reception but the door was locked and we couldn't get in ??... More

Amazing views of the surrounding countryside and water. Very quiet beautiful rooms which all have great views. The breakfast was excellent. To get there it's a ferry and vice versa , to go to Loch Lomond and back you can have a long drive through beautiful countryside or take the ferry. Will definitely go back sometime.

Despite the description on their web site, this is not a 4 star hotel, and does not have a restaurant. First impression of the hotel is that it is in a beautiful location, and looks lovely. However, after entering a deserted reception area, we rang a bell and were greeted unenthusiastically by a man in filthy clothing. He directed us... More

Dear Guest, I am sorry you felt obliged to address such crafty remarks. It is unfortunate that you waited a full two days until the last minute upon departure to mention your disappointment and to ask for a discount on the price of your stay. It is a known practice known to the hotel trade - we can only reject... More

Just a few feet from the Gourock car ferry, this hotel is surprisingly well appointed for the price. The bar and lounge appear to be out of use for now and there is no evening meal on offer, but the furnishings and decor are of a high standard. Our room on the top floor was very comfortable and spacious and... More

We stayed in this hotel last night as a last minute getaway, the hotelier is lovely, room clean and well furnished, with a really comfy bed. Worth paying a bit extra for a sea view as you can see right across the Clyde and over to the hills. Breakfast was well cooked and you could tell that care had been... More

my husband and myself have just returned from an overnight stay at this hotel. It was clean and well kept but this is the first time I have stayed in a hotel of this quality and they didn't serve dinner. When we booked my husband asked if we needed to book a table for dinner and he was told no... More

We stayed for just two nights and wish it had been a longer stay! We were greeted with a warm welcome and had a nicely furnished room with beautiful views over the water. Breakfast was amazing and served at a time to suit us, and was delicious! The service was second to none, and would definitely both return and suggest... More

We stayed at this lovely hotel recently, for two nights, and were so pleased to have chosen it out of the many places to stay in Dunoon. It's a beautiful old house, with wonderful original features which have been very well preserved. The hotel is immaculately kept, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The ground floor drawing room was especially nice,... More

My husband and I stayed here at very short notice last week. We were the only guests, and got a free upgrade. Room was huge with a lovely view of the harbour and ferry terminal. The owner has very helpful, lighting the fire for us in the bar/lounge area and making us breakfast to the time which suited us best.... More
