I have just spent a wonderful weekend at the Esplanade Hotel. Around 80 people attended my father`s 70 th birthday party. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, warm and went out of their way to be helpful, particularly the hotel manager who always made herself available. Well, where should I start on commenting on this hotel? The fact that the food was of a poor standard, there were no veggie options and it was as homemade as a microwave dinner? Or the room having poor facilities such as no hairdryer, a broken kettle and no biscuits to compliment the tea tray? Or the staff? Hoovering the... more

I am writing in responce to the comment that was posted on the 16th of April 2007. OUr hotel is of a 3 star standard, we use all fresh produce in our establishment, there is never frozen chicken or bottled butterscotch sauce, our meat and poultry is delivered to our hotel daily and is never frozen. as for the cheese...

This is a great hotel for a weekend break. The hotel is just like the web page. Food is plentiful and well cooked, both at breakfast and dinner. Rooms well furnished. Staff extremely helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. I would certainly go again more
