Very friendly hotel with a wonderful restaurant. Food is cooked by the owner and is excellent. We thought the steaks the best cooked we had ever had and the Stilton Quiche was truly special. Very large double bed in large, high ceilinged room. Games and books available for guests and views are spectacular. Current owners only been in situ for... more

We spent 5 days over my birthday & Christmas at Abotts Brae. We had a wonderful time from the moment we arrived to the day we left. Nothing was too much trouble for Christine & Colin. The rooms were lovely; they were warm & bright with wonderful sea views. The food was plentiful, well cooked and with a very varied... more

I stayed at the Abbots Brae to celebrate my 21st with my entire family. We filled all the rooms and the service was excellent. The attention to detail and the way hosts, Colin and Christine, went out of there way to meet our needs was brilliant. The effort they put in to make it a memorable weekend was outstanding. It... more

From the initial greeting to departing the owners could not have been more attentative and helpful. The room was pleasant and spacious and the "view from the loo" over the Clyde has to be seen. The menus were varied and full of local produce, all cooked to a high standard. The wine list was good and the small but well... more

We (5 of us) spent Christmas at the Abbot;s Brae and we had a wonderful time so much so we intend to go back this year. The food was lovely and plentiful. The other guests who stayed over Christmas were very friendly which made it all seem like a house party among old friends. The location is breathtaking. The rooms... more

First impressions were good; lovely room with nice furnishings, toiletries etc. Canapes before dinner very nice. Very small lounge which is not big enough for the number of rooms. Dinner good on first couple of nights. Heating turned off during the day - hotel freezing! Hogmany package was full of promise, but VERY disappointing. First buffet meal was of cafe... more

We visited Abbots Brae hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable short break after quite a trying few months. It did not disappoint! From the incredibly warm welcome to the beautifully appointed room with a fabulous view of the Firth of Forth to the fantastic food at both dinner and breakfast the whole experience was superb. We ate in the hotel... more

Enjoyed a 2 day stay in this friendly hotel in early August this year. The views alone make a visit here worthwhile.... It was clear from the initial warm welcome, and the little touches like chocolates left on the pillows that the owners take great care with the details and really do seek to ensure that guests feel pampered. The... more
