Based on almost universally positive Trip Advisor ratings I booked Abbots Brae. A garden facing room seemed not unreasonable at £95 per night, but my view of what constitutes a garden differs greatly from Abbots Brae. Unless you consider paying extra for the view in the attached photograph, don't book into room 2, Innellen. The cheek of calling this a... More

On our way to and from our holiday cottage we stayed at the Abbot's Brae with our two Dobermans, we were thoroughly impressed. The room was large, clean and beautifully decorated with a spectacular view over the water. Our dogs appreciated the complimentary doggie biscuits, warm blankets and water bowls. The owners and staff were welcoming and helpful. The restaurant... More

We stayed two nights here, gorgeous room- unbeatable views, comfortable & quiet, nature all around... perfection. Food was a slice of heaven, with lovely presentations, great wines. We loved every minute here! So much to see & do in Scotland-- but the Abbot's Brae makes for a fabulous retreat.

Had a lovely stay at Abbot's Brae! The rooms were lovely, well presented and very clean with comfortable beds. The front bedrooms have absolutely stunning views! The staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome and the food was lovely. Couldn't fault out stay in any way, will definitely be back!

We stayed 3 nights with our dog in a king size room with seaview (I could have stayed all day just enjoying the vista from the bedroom window!) The room was spacious, very clean and quiet. We had dinner one night and the breakfasts were superb! Colin and Christine are very friendly and will make your stay extremely enjoyable. The... More

We stayed at the hotel for two nights after I won a radio competition. We didn't really know what to expect since this wasn't a planned trip but it was utterly fabulous! The hotel is run by a couple called Colin and Christine who are genuinely happy to welcome guests and make sure your stay is perfect. We were given... More

Lovely hotel, friendly and efficient staff and excellent food. Everything you need in a hotel with the plus of stunning views across the firth of Clyde. Bedroom was spacious and clean and dining room had a bay window table from which we watched birds and rabbits and red squirrel having their breakfast while we had ours. We were greeted by... More

Beautiful grounds with lots of wildlife. We had a wonderful stay for our 1st wedding anniversary, very peaceful and friendly. The views over the sea are fantastic and the food was delicious. Thanks to Colin, Christine and the staff for a lovely time.

I booked a 3 night break but unfortunately was only able to stay one night. Even so I was really impressed with the cleanliness, friendliness and high standards. It's a lovely peaceful location too, up a private wooded drive but only 100m from the sea and a 10 minute leiurely walk into town. I'd definitely stay again.
