I stayed here twice. It's very clean indeed, welcoming, and offers an excellent breakfast. The proprietor looks after his guests very well, and nothing is too much trouble. All B&Bs should be like this!

Excellent b&b. Attention to detail of owners was great. Lovely spacious room. Very clean, great decor, stunning views, great breakfast and welcoming owners. They even arranged for the sun to be out:-)

I am in trouble, I booked this B and B as a half way point on our journey and my wife enjoyed it so much, has nagged me all day saying why didn't I book for more nights as this was a beautiful place to stay. From the welcome , the bedroom, the breakfast and the view of the loch... More

Our room was spacious and comfortable. The location has a view of the loch and is 5 minutes from the ferry. Our hosts Richard and Helen were very gracious and shared personal stories and historical anecdotes about the recent history of Holy Loch. Richard was very attentive, helpful, and and an excellent chef.

Came upon The Anchorage quite late on in the evening and so glad I did - excellent host, room and breakfast, not to mention the location on the shore of Holy Loch. Better than any hotel. Will be returning as soon as we can get back to Scotland!

I've stayed at the Anchorage 4 times in the last year where you are welcomed by the owner who is a true gentleman. On a bright clear morning, pulling the drapes in the Heron Room reveals a glassy, mirror-like Holy Loch, and a view from the giant 'lit-bateau' bed. The owner is the king of eggs with poached done to... More

Our return visit to the Anchorage did not disappoint; still run by the charming and extremely helpful Richard, still the clean and comfortable rooms, still the great breakfasts. The Anchorage is perfectly located on Hunter’s Quay with an unimpeded view of shimmering Holy Loch where it meets Loch Long and the Firth of Clyde. The first floor (U.S. second floor)... More

We spotted 'The Anchorage' last year whilst touring in the area & decided to stay there this year for 2 nights. The loch road from the B & B towards Dunoon & beyond has stunning scenic views & is very well kept & ferries frequently operate from the loch side over to Greenock. The house is attractive & situated on... More

Stayed 2 nights in the Heron Room giving superb views across Holy Loch and up the Clyde. The bedroom was very spacious with a large comfortable bed and more than adequate en-suite bathroom. We were given tea on arrival and the room had excellent facilities to make your own hot drinks in the morning. The breakfasts were superb be they... More

Richard is a marvellous host and was very helpful in offering advice on where to eat. We stayed in Heron room which had a wonderful outlook. The room was very large with a huge, comfortable bed. Breakfast is very good and we were really quite sorry to have to check out.
