If you're visiting Dunoon, this is a great place to stay. The Heron room has a fantasic bed, and great views out onto the Holy Loch. The breakfast is superb and Richard is a fantastic host. Highly recommendable B&B

I agree with the last 70 excellent reviews, and a reason to use trip adviser to chose our places to stay.........a handy place 5 mins from the ferry port, but with views straight across holy loch, we woke up to mist out to sea, but then had an hour of reading a really well stocked library and tucking into a... This B&B is just lovely. The house is beautiful and the welcome, atmosphere and attention to detail is wonderful. I stayed the first night on my own and then asked the next day if I could extend my stay as my partner was able to join me for a well deserved relaxing evening together. The owner was so helpful and... More

This was my third long weekend staying at The Anchorage, and every time it has been an absolute pleasure. Excellent room, very comfortable bed and great breakfasts with wonderful views across the loch. We were (again) very lucky with the weather - Richard, the owner, must be doing something right! He goes to a lot of effort and it really... More

We had a lovely couple of nights at the Anchorage and we were looked after well by the hosts Richard and Helen. The beds were comfy, the rooms were cosy and the breakfast was great. We went out in the boat which was great. Dunoon is a bit tired but all in all a great stay.

I stayed here twice. It's very clean indeed, welcoming, and offers an excellent breakfast. The proprietor looks after his guests very well, and nothing is too much trouble. All B&Bs should be like this!

I am in trouble, I booked this B and B as a half way point on our journey and my wife enjoyed it so much, has nagged me all day saying why didn't I book for more nights as this was a beautiful place to stay. From the welcome , the bedroom, the breakfast and the view of the loch... More

Our room was spacious and comfortable. The location has a view of the loch and is 5 minutes from the ferry. Our hosts Richard and Helen were very gracious and shared personal stories and historical anecdotes about the recent history of Holy Loch. Richard was very attentive, helpful, and and an excellent chef.
