I cant find the words to say how lovely my stay with Sarah and Jim was at The Rob Roy Guest House, but here goes ,the warm welcome, lovely room with access to garden for my dog and my bad habit of smoking. breakfast great and evening meals in good company a delight. Will be returning soon, my bolt hole... More

We decided to stay at the Rob Roy whilst visiting friends near folkestone. We couldn't fault the service, Sarah was very welcoming and friendly. We only stayed for one night but would definitely stay again. The room was comfortable with onsuite bathroom and had everything we needed. If you are looking for a comfortable bed and a friendly welcome then... More

A lovely Guest House, not a 5 star hotel, but with 5 star attention. We stayed to break our journey back to France and needed somewhere dog friendly. Our internet search found us this little gem. Not only extremely dog friendly, but extremely human friendly too. We arrived later than expected in the evening after a fraught journey from the... More

Thank you Julia for the review and especially mentioning of environmental policy. We try to offer our guests good value for money without skimping on quality, whether it be food or our hospitality. The latter costs us nothing but always pays off the most with receiving such a lovely review. Thanks again and we hope to see you all in... More

Wanted to stay somewhere a bit different on route to France. Got there quite late but couldn't have hoped for a more friendly welcome from Sarah. Rooms clean and the breakfast good. Very friendly and helpful.

I received a lovely welcome from Sarah and the room and bed were very comfortable. I had a delicious breakfast in the morning and the location is ideal for anyone using Euro Tunnel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

I have stayed at Rob Roy many times over the last 3yrs. Always good comfortable rooms & good food. Sarah always goes that extra mile to ensure all needs are catered for as much as possible. It is excellent value for money - every time. Thankyou!

we booked here because of an early shuttle crossing. It has everything, cleanliness, comfortable double bed and spotless toilet and shower. Only complaint would be very poor power on shower, I was very glad I hadn't washed my hair! Great buffet breakfast left out for our early start. Great overnight stop off.

Stayed here for one night as travelling to Calais the following morning. Pleasant welcome from Sarah but guest house could be more inviting; sadly not situated in a good part of Folkestone which is rather grotty and has a distinctly unloved feel to it. Room pleasant enough, with ensuite shower room in a sort of "corridor". Rather strange layout overall.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to do a review. I am a bit unsure as to how I can be welcoming but not very inviting. I helped with directions and timings for the place you wanted to eat. As I commented on another review recently from the friends, that you came here with, all towns have areas... More

The guesthouse was fine. Our room (#6) was not large, but plenty big enough for one night before crossing through the Channel Tunnel. Not sure I would have wanted to stay for much longer in that size room, though. Sarah, the owner, was very helpful. The walk from the guest house to the centre of Folkestone was not nice, through... Thank you for taking the time to do a review. We are sorry that you found the room small and the parts of the area poor. Like most town there are places that are not always as nice as others, I am sure this is the case near wherever you live. Folkestone has been named as one of the top... More
