What a Dump….. When we arrived we were allocated a room up on the top storey/attic (316), and it was bad enough but when we went to bed that night the windows stared rattling with the wind outside, and they sure did rattle. We could not go to sleep all night with the racket, but, had to put with it... more

The Carlton Hotel in Folkestone fulfilled all the needs of our Group of 29 retired Ladies. The position is wonderful with lovely views. Our rooms were comfortable and the Staff so friendlyand helpful. The food was really superb plenty of choice and well cooked. The restaurant Staff deserve a special mention for service and good humour. We were vey pleased with... more

We went as part of a David Urquhart 5 day holiday. The room we had were both on the ground floor, which was ideal for my mother who has arthritis in her knees. The view looking over the channel was very good. The sheets, towels and basic cleanliness was good, as was the food. But you do get used the little extras... more

Rating is based on Value for Money for this standard of hotel. The other reviews are inaccurate as they do not take into account the price - £32 B & B!! The hotel is right on the sea front in the Leas area - so a central/convenient location. The room overlooked the sea with the white cliffs of Dover just... more

Stayed here over christmas and had a really nice time the food and staff were excellent , yes the hotel is old and the bathroom seemed like it was on a slope but the room was clean and warm . The hotel is in a stunning location on The Leas really close to the town centre. more

We enjoyed our 4 nights stay at the Carlton Hotel. Although slightly dated it was clean and efficient and the staff was very helpful and courteous. After reading some bad reviews we were sceptical about going, but it was fine, we didn't hear any bad reports from any other guests. What a view from our room at the front overlooking... more

We only stayed one night ,before travelling to France. Believe me when I say that one night was enough. The staff were friendly and cheerful and the breakfast was good. The hotel generally was clean and tidy, if a little tired looking, but the bed, that was something else. It was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in.... more

The hotel was more like a run down old peoples home. It had a muggy smell and although I am a smoker myself I was disgusted at the smell of smoke as we entered our dull shabby room. We were offered another room as the toilet would not flush properly although on mentioning the problem the old gentleman on reception... more
