My family stayed at the Wycliffe Hotel in Folkestone for two nights and had two totally different experiences. We were visiting relatives in the area but were unable to stay with at the last minute due to ill health. With no advanced booking we were lucky to obtain a large family room with ensuite consisting of a double and two... More

The most positive aspects of the Wycliffe are the warm hospitality and helpfulness of the owners, who did their best for us and and the fact that the hotel is very dog-friendly by UK standards. The down sides? We booked a double room which was in fact no more than a poor single with a double bed. I am slightly... More

I can't believe this was only £29. Even without en suite it is a real bargain. I was met by the cheerful owner and shown my room. right at the top and no lift but you can take as long as you want to get ther! Tea and coffee in the room, shower was hot and place very clean. Quiet... More

The BB is quite nice in a quiet place of town (although it seemed to me all folkestone is quiet, even too quiet), with lovely hosts that are very friendly. It's a lovely old house, which makes it very charming, but makes it also inside a bit...old. So, absolutely happy to have stayed here and probably one of the best... More

Lovely old house with so much character. The breakfasts are brilliant and really set you up for day. The owners really know the local area and are very happy to help you plan your holiday.

We have just returned from a six night stay at the Wycliffe and found it to be a welcoming and friendly place to stay. Our room was very comfortable with plenty of storage. The bathroom was compact but beautifully fitted out and the electric toilet was something we had never encountered before. Filling in the breakfast sheet every evening was... More

I stayed here with my wife and two other couples for two nights in late October 2010. The owners were welcoming and the hotel very comfortable. Our room was simply enormous, with a wide screen TV and comfortable beds - in fact a lot more comfortable than the Premier Inn where we stayed the previous night! Breakfast times were flexible,... We needed to break our journey and have an overnight stop with our 3 young children. Searching the Internet, the Wycliffe seemed like the best option and we booked over the phone with a very friendly-sounding owner. The hotel feels like a big B&B+... we were welcomed at the door and the house rules explained. Nothing complicated - the only... More

My wife and I stayed at this establishment on the 9th and 10th of August. It was very clean and well appointed accommodation with very friendly management and staff. Our ensuite shower room and toilet was well decorated and equiped if a little cramped. There was plenty of on site parking which was our initial reason for choosing the Wycliffe... More

... and that was the fact that the hotel folder you get in your room is full of "and if you do this, you will be charged". It was clean, but really very cold. I woke up freezing. The TV was so small and so far away from the bed that you couldn't watch it! The owners were friendly, but... More
