The hotel is in such a wonderful location, looks good from the outside; also the reception area is clean, tidy and the hotel was very warm BUT thats where the good ends. The bedrooms leave much to be desired, we only had a bath which was very narrow and no 'grab rails' were fitted which makes it very awkward for... More

My husband and I spent 2 nights in this B&B during the easter break, I did not realise it was a 2 star establishment. I found the room to be very small, the shower was so pointless it was not worth getting in for a wash. The soiled undercover of the bed a so called bed protector was marked with... More

We spent a weekend at this hotel and found the food excellent and the room very clean. The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. More

I just spent a weekend at this hotel and whilst I agree with other reviewers that the food was excellent and well presented and the linen was clean my stay was ruined by the fact that the radiator in my single room did not work at all. Despite the unusually hot weather my room was at the back and did... More

The building looked really nice and the entrance didn't dissapoint, staff were helpful and informative, the lift was very old fashioned and at a squeeze could fit 3,now to the room...the carpets needed replacing as they were stained and faded, the curtains and bed cover were like something out of the 70's,tea tray and cups were filthy as was the bin and toilet... The Southcliff, Folkestone, Kent sits on a prime hill top location & is a short walk from the town. The Southcliff provided us with friendly staff, a clean comfy bed, beautiful Victorian hotel exterior and sea views – not to mention a resident ghost! What we did not appreciate was the very limited breakfast quantity & choice and observing the... More

Having just spent a few nights at the Southcliffe Hotel, I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and it's location. The staff and the owners are very friendly people and the standard of catering is excellent. It's true that the bedrooms are showing signs of wear and tear, but that's reflected in the low room rates that you pay.... More

Second time at this Hotel, as its very handy for shows at the Leas Cliff Hall. We only stayed one night in a warm, comfortable room with the basics. Staff are friendly and accommodating and a residents bar available for beers and a laugh. This would make a great base for a short stay for sightseeing and maybe a channel... More

We only stayed for one night because it was cheap. The room was comfortable, clean but in need of refurbishment and not very warm, very basic and the bed was two single beds pushed together. The breakfast was the worst I had ever experienced in a hotel. The milk was off, the toast was cold and I had scrambled egg... More
