We booked a one night stay on our way back from France to break the journey up, and yes it was cheap compared to some places. Very dated all around even from outside it looks dated, although the bedroom was clean it left a lot to be desired, the bath was ancient, hardly any enamel left on it, horrid damp... More

Booked this hotel via booking.com a couple of weeks ago and received an email at five minutes to midnight last night to tell us they had overbooked and had moved us. Arrived at 19.30 this evening. Don't feel it is fair to name the hotel we were moved to but suffice to say it falls far short of what we... More

We had an overnight stay here as we had an early morning tunnel crossing and it is perfectly adequate more an overnight stay. The premises on the whole are very clean but it is very tired looking and could possibly do with a makeover, however for the price you pay it is totally acceptable. Our room had a balcony and... We had a great weekend break at the Southcliffe Hotel, we used Folkestone as a base for visiting Canterbury and Dover Castle. Rooms a little dated but very clean, bathroom spotless and seemed to be newly refurbished. Lovely location on the promenade overlooking the channel. I cannot understand the complaints for this hotel, for the price it's excellent value, the... More

This hotel was expectionally cheap so I thought it would be more like a hostel. We booked a room for two people and a two year old; they didn't charge for my son and provided a travel cot too. When we arrived at the hotel we were pleasantly suprised. The hotel is a fair size, lit up with pretty blue... More

Not good, had a night stay, it was disaster, faulty locks, smelly rooms but the view beats them all and staffs very lovely and warm. If you are looking for a good stay you are better off somewhere else but if you are tight on budget, it might be the one for you.

The hotel is really nice from the outside and located in The Leas with a direct sea view. Once you enter though, you notice the outdated furnishing and and old smell. This smell and the outdated indoors also are present in the rooms. We had a room on 4th floor with a magnificent sea view though. Breakfast was okay. The... More

I stayed here recently for one night prior to an early ferry departure from Dover. As you approach the hotel from the road the building looks quite impressive from the outside, however once inside the first thing that hits you is the old and musty smell. Whilst I waited at the reception desk I had a quick look around and... More
