The hotel is on the cliff facing the sea with good views. Its not a high standard but is usually cheap to book at lower than 50 pounds a night with breakfast included. Don't expect luxury here just the basic clean room and OK breakfast and you won't be disappointed

Room was ok for a night away by the coast Staff were very good, helpful and friendly. We were close to some nice wine bars on the Leas and ended up dancing our socks off at the Office bar along the road Would use this hotel again for a weekend in Folkestone definitely

Excellent priced budget hotel which is located on the seafront. You therefore have a 50% chance of having a room overlooking the sea. The other 50% will overlook a car park. It offers a really great reception service with a multi lingual receptionist and staff are all very gracious and polite whether this is to the licensed bar or at... More

This is no longer a great place to stay. The biggest gripe was the large floor to ceiling waste pipe in the tiny loo- it made loud noises whenever someone used the toilets above our room. The décor is looking very dated and tired. I'm sure there are better places in Folkestone to stay.

This is the fourth time we've stayed here. The rooms are basic but good enough for an overnight stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is cooked to order and the waiting staff are extremely helpful and efficient. Although not the most luxurious hotel around, the Southcliff is very good value, with great views of the seafront and... More

I booked this as we needed to be in Folkestone for 1 night but I won't stay here again. Staff efficient and friendly but the room was very shabby, dark and the "en suite" was a joke - just an extended cupboard with a tiny shower fitted into it, with a loo and basin, we aren't large people by any... The price of this hotel is a real bargain and the staff are really friendly and helpful. However it is a little shabby and the rooms could do with a lick of fresh paint and some TLC. However, it's in a great location, right by the sea and about a 15 minute walk from the central station. The staff were... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night prior to going to France via Eurotunnel. A sea view room with a balcony with breakfast for £54.00 is cheap but maybe slightly overpriced. The staff were great but the hotel is shabby and in great need of TLC but then that fits in well with the rest of Folkestone town... More

The best the Hotel can offer is its location right next to the sea. Otherwise it offers absolutely no value to its guests. Luckily, we only stayed one night in the shabby double bed room. It needed both of us to even open the window in the room! The bathroom was so small, you had to leave the door open... More

Lovely location and a shiny new bathroom Clean ensuite double room with sea view and cooked breakfast for £56, what more can you expect? Decor in public areas is getting tired and breakfast was basic English style. Don't expect a choice of mueslis or granary bread, if that's what you should look elsewhere. It is what it is and they...
