We kind of got what we expected Very tatty and a bit depressing but clean. They upgraded us free to a sea view with balcony. Nice gesture. However bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on with springs poking in our back all night. Bed base tattered and stained. But breakfast was good with excellent bacon and a... More

We are not sure how this place ever got an "excellent" review because we found it somewhat seedy. We chose it because of its location, which really was just about the only positive we had for the place - the view of the channel was great. The room was small and poky, the bathroom so small that it was a... More

Like the title says, it depends what you went for. We wanted a 1 night stay before an early channel tunnel crossing. Out first find was a premier travel inn, for about £70-80 for the night, when we spotted this. £37 for the night for 2 people including breakfast. We couldnt resist. FIRST IMPRESSIONS If you go for the coach... More

Stayed for 1 night (thankfully) before catching an early shuttle crossing. We were not expecting much due to the price paid, but some of the reviews were positive so if it was just a matter of redecorating the place, that would be ok. The fact is, it's more than just a lick of paint that is required. Yes, the whole... More

I stopped over the weekend on a coach party, before I went I did the silly thing of reading all the negative reviews on here, so was not expecting much, how wrong was I! I could not fault the hotel at all, yes it is basic, but what do you expect for the price. It was warm, very clean and... More

The hotel is dated and in need of refurbishment, the furniture is tired and so is the paintwork. The carpets are well worn and could do with being replaced. The price is reasonable and the service was good the staff are friendly and helpful. Being Tinsel & Turkey we had a nice Christmas Meal setting with a gift in the dinning... More

I stayed in this hotel on a Friday night and paid extra for a sea view room. The Reception staff were very friendly, but the hotel itself felt like nothing had changed since the 1980's. The whole place felt really tired and the bedroom itself was like nothing I had every experienced before. I felt like it was meant for... More
