We booked into here for just one night before taking the Eurostar. The hotel was clean, with a friendly welcome. It is convenient for the town centre, and some pubs if you want to pop out for a drink. Overnight Parking is free on the road outside up to 8:00am. The previous year we had stayed just down the road... More

We are a middle aged couple experiencing our 1st overnight stay in Folkstone and come away with mixed feelings. Booked a standard size double room with a sea view and balcony over looking the channel and with a full English breakfast ...all for £50 ..Now that is what I call a bargain.......and its in a ideal location Its situated half... We had to go to Hastings regarding business and then decided to stay in this cheap hotel after a long day. Yes, the decor is OLD, yes, the shower is very very basic, yes, the breakfast area is very very basic too, yes, DIY and a lick of paint needed everywhere.....but also yes to a most comfortable night's sleep, a... A rather grand looking hotel on the outside in a wonderful location overlooking the sea. On the inside you got a distinct feeling of English seaside holidays with a feint musty smell with a bit of charm! The guy on reception was incredibly welcoming and because we had been waiting for only a few minutes he upgraded our room to... More

(This is a review of the room only not food/bar etc) The price is great if you book late in the day. If I was paying 40 or more I wouldnt be so impressed. Shower room is clean enough as is the carpets etc. Plenty of draws and wardrobe space. Im happy with the deal and would recommend to a... More

We booked this hotel for work purpose and only because it was cheaper than all the rest. We arrived on Sunday afternoon around 3pm, and checked in. As it was Sunday we headed for the bar, and was having to call the bloke from reception every time we wanted a drink, which was a great inconvenience to him and did... More

You are the last person, I would have expected, would write such a comment on this site. Your party had drunk too much, but that wasn't the real problem, your party was a bit too noisy, but that wasn't the problem, one of your party did drop his kebab on the floor, but that wasn't the problem, that you incited... I booked here as I had an interview in the area. I knew the hotel was only 2 star, but was not prepared for how bad it would be. The receptionist who checked us in was so miserable and had a dreadful attitude. My room was on the first floor, over the threadbare carpet and up a dark set of... More

We got this at a bargain price. Its not flash but it does the job. The room and furniture was basic and a little dated, but clean. The bathroom had been updated and was a really good standard. TV was small and could have done with being on a swivel mount, but thats being picky. Beds were comfortable. Staff were... More

This hotel has seen better days, but was clean, meals very nice, and the new years Party dinner was excellent. Our room on second floor was adequate but the water took an age to warm up. Lift was amusing.
