Basic hygiene is amiss... we had a stagnant pooh and urine in our toilet . Yes the hotel.needs a lot of investment which is appreciated but pure basic hygiene is missing. No sheet on bed just bottom sheet and scratchy blanket . This hotel needs the hotel inspector .......staff are friendly but no customer service at all. Reception answering a... More

After waiting for the barmaid to stop chatting and give us our room details, we were soon back down to advise that our room had a leak. We were changed to another room just as grubby. However the place has charm, high ceilings, gigantic rooms, great view of the sea and perfect location. Price was good so all round it... More

Dirty, noticed this as soon as we entered the hotel reception. Room was so dirty, shower room tiles never even get clean. Can't understand if one can run this place and called it a hotel. If anyone cannot find the place to stay then my advice would be, just don't go.

The Hotel is in an excellent position with a lovely view over the sea and that is where the good news ends. The hotel is in very urgent need for updating and cleaning. When we were shown our room a carpet was folded up at one end making it a trip hazard and there was some old soap and hairs,... More

It was a pretty bad stay. The room was so dirty, stains all over the carpet, a dirty bath, questionable stains (looked like blood) on the top covers of the bed, dirty head boards. It was one pillow per bed which was the thinnest pillow I've ever come across. The television didn't work either. After going down to breakfast the... More

As a two star hotel, at the sea side, we got what we expected. On arrival met by the receptionist who offered advice on parking nearby which is always useful. Walked into Folkestone, which as a seaside resort, has seen better days but haven't all similar locations. The bedroom was a twin and a very large bedroom, sink in the... More

I stayed here earlier this year, and again last week. I wanted somewhere comfortable, but at a bargain price, both times I was surprised. I love the location, on the sea front with its beautiful promenade. The staff could not be more warm and friendly, and the full English breakfast included in the price made a perfect start to my... Booked this hotel for my son and a friend for Saturday 24th May 215 for an overnight stay. Having spoken to him he has said that the hotel was awful in all respects, not clean and facilities well below par. He has told me that upon arrival and after check in because the hotel was so bad that he and... More

This is my second stay at the Salisbury. I stayed here in August 2011, and my review at the time said: Yes, this hotel is a bit shabby, and could do with a bit of updating. However, I have no complaints at all about my seven night stay. My room was small, but comfortable, and was kept spotlessly clean throughout... More

they are right, yes the girl is nice but the hotel isnt, most guests are sadly paid for by the dss and have no home to go to, there must be better hotels to stay in at least we only stayed one night and didn't get breakfast so I suppose I should be thankful I cant complain about that !!!!
