I had to stay in Huddersfield for a night on business recently. As a few from the team had to attend the meeting we all booked the same hotel. The price per room was £65.00 inc breakfast. The rooms were very poor. There was very little clean and the bedding and towels were stained and in need of replacement. One... more

I stayed for one night at the Huddersfield Hotel and it was awful. Fair enough, it seems like they are very slowly refurbishing the hotel. But as far as i could tell they are a long way off improving the rooms. The corridors are dark & forboding and maze like. The rooms are dank, musty and probably last decorated in... more

After seeing what was written about this hotel I booked for one night hoping to move to another hotel the next day. I arrived to a newly decorated reception and was pleasantly suprised by my room which, was clean and fresh. I decided to use my discount vouche given to me by reception in the new restaurant and WOW! What... more

I read the hotel reviews after I booked directly with the hotel, and expected to be staying at fawlty towers, I was pleasantly surprised, the hotel is going through refurbishment, the downstairs foyer / bar area / restaurant are what you would expect from a 3* rated hotel i.e clean well serviced and very friendly staff, the bar prices are... more

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in in the UK, and Ive stayed in b&bs in Kings Cross for £25 a night! there is nothing good about it and should be avoided at all costs. Arrived on Saturday afternoon, car park full so had to pay on the road parking until 6pm.Was meeting friends at the bar but... more

An absolutely awful place. Arrived on a Saturday night for a stay with some friends. Damp, dark, mouldy, smelly - i could go on for ever. The state of the corridor down to my room was onimous enough - celiing tiles badly stained, a mixture of must and cigarette smoke hanging in the air punctuated by the increasingly loud thumping... more

The place is a total shambles and to be avoided at all costs. The staff are willing but useless. I arrived on a Sunday night to be led through to the attached pub which contained some particularly unsavoury characters doing their Karaoke. The rooms are tatty at best, dirty and the communal areas are scruffy and dirty. The room was... more

There can be no excuses for the shabby, dusty, smelly state of this hotel. The rooms and corridors are dark, damp and dirty, its noisy and the grumpy staff never meet your eye. Yet the rates are the same as somewhere acceptable. We were shocked by the dingy rundown shambles of the place and curtailed our stay to a single... more

Management response from
Craigdhealey, General Manager

In response to the comments above, I can only apologise for the "shabbyness" of the Huddersfield Hotel. The building and its fixtures and fittings and decorations are indeed a priority that is being addressed at the moment. Unfortunately these issues do take time to rectify and are not an instant hit! I am very disappointed that the guest felt that...

My family of 3 were booked in a Guest House which was horrible. The next day I walked the streets looking for another place and came across this Hotel. The young girl who assisted me was just superb. Friendly and trustful. We turned up early on the day we booked and the gentleman who assisted us that morning was more... more
