Having been booked into this hotel for one night by my employer, I arrived with some trepidation after reading the bad reviews on this site. Well how wrong could I be. I was greeted by friendly staff my room was clean and fresh and my evening meal was great. I dont know why people have posted bad comments about this... more

I wonder when reading some of the reviews on this site if the people have stayed at the same hotel. Rooms were clean, breakfast great and staff really helpful. Would stay again more

Bad from the word go is an understatement, i went to The Huddersfield hotel as i stayed there before early last year. I thought it was terrible before but was told renervations where been carried out. Nothing has changed in over a year, rooms still dirty, stained bed linen, no curtains in my room. Infact it looks shut down now.... more

Well, as soon as we arrived I knew we had made a big mistake. The staff who welcomed us were moaning about not being paid, our booking wasn't booked, and the lift was not working yet no-one offered to help with our bags. We asked staff when the lift would be in working order again and the girl at the... more

This was the worst hotel I've ever seen. Dirty rooms, poor lighting, noisy location, curtains that were filthy and wudn't shut, badly trained staff and mix ups with the booking. more

Having just returned from abroad and still suffering from jet lag, my friend and I booked in to the Huddersfield Hotel, after being on a course in Huddersfield, in order to avoid a long journey while tired. BIG MISTAKE. There was no wardrobe, just a few hangers in an alcove where one of the twin beds was located. This meant... more

This is possibly the worst hotel I've stayed in on business - and that's saying something. Very dated and dirty room (previous occupant's stinky sock anyone?) with wallpaper peeling off the walls and chairs with unsavoury stains on them. The mattress and bedding were incredibly cheap, nasty, uncomfortable and old - think student bedsit and you'll get the picture. Clearly... more

Description of hotel on website says ' limited secure parking'. This turned out to be a pay and display car park in a not very nice part of town. Surrounded by night clubs and pole dancing clubs, secure parking it most certainly was not! We asked for a quiet room but were booked into a room on the front opposite... more

IT MAY WELL BE THAT THE REFURBISHED ROOMS ARE O.K. BUT - having been promised a refurbished room at the time of booking by 'phone for a "spacious room for single occupancy please", the room allocated to me on arrival late on a weekday evening was indeed spacious but otherwise beyond belief - smelly, dirty, noisy, cracked plaster, cracked tiles,... more

The Huddersfield Hotel is a very old hotel in need of refurbishment. It shows its age. But, the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. The towels and bed linens look rather new, and are quite nice (I very much appreciated the enormous bath towel). Wifi was available, and worked quite well. When I asked for an iron... more
