I really can't understand some of the reviews on here so had to write one myself. The rooms face either a quiet residential street (the M62 is close, but you can't hear it) or a quiet courtyard. When I stayed the staff advised me that there was a wedding on that night and moved my room to the back of... more

We booked the hotel last minuet as we were visiting friends in the area and didn't want to drive home. Unfortunately the hotel was not at all nice. As many people have commented it's very 1970s. Staffs are friendly enough which seems to be the hotels only redeeming feature. We decided to have breakfast in the room, and to be... more

Having stayed here for 2 nights a week for the last few weeks due to family commitments locally, we have this hotels dramatically changing review pattern sussed! There are 2 main sides to the hotel - one is older in décor and faces the M62 - we had our first uncomfortable experience of this on our last visit - the... more

Were booked in here by a relative - said it was 4 star but we were dubious. Needed somewhere in the area and by the M62. It couldn't be easier to find. Shouldn't have worried - it was 4 star and really lovely. Room was modern, spacious and had everything. Very clean, good decor and smashing bathroom. Lovely breakfast and... more

Stayed here for one night (business trip). The hoel was ok and it was clean - but the furnishings are old and very, very dated.. The place does seem overly expensive for what you get. Huge gripe was that I had booked a non smoking room but was given a smoking room. A decent hotel wouldn't make mistakes like that. more

We stayed at the Cedar Court in May 2006 for our wedding night and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The room was beautiful, the staff were excellent (except one female receptionist who was very rude) and the food was to die for! It's in a great location, easy to find and a huge car park surrounded by set gardens... more

Hotel is acceptable, rooms are generally clean, if very noisy however the front desk service leaves a lot to be desired. Customers skipping lines are openly welcomed whilst others who wait their turn are greeting with disdain. I suspect many front of house staff are on some sort of local employment scheme as they are not even appropriately dressed. more

I spent 2 days at the Cedar Court with my Husband. We found it easy to find ,just off the motorway. We found at £45 aroom it was good value, although I have stayed at nice 4* Hotels we couldn,t complain with this. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms wen,t too simular to those found in a travel lodge.The... more

Everything about the Cedar court was excellent. After booking my stay I had difficulty in finding transport to the hotel as my flight was due to arrive into east midlands which is about 1 1/2 hours away. On calling the Hotel, i spoke to Ellen in reservations who gave me my variuos options of travel in great detail. She called... more

Stayed a night for a business trip. The hotel is said to be 4 star, but it's really down-market if it is. Most of the decoration is tired and it just doesn't have a stylish feel. We were unable to book dinner until 9:15 pm and so had to eat elsewhere. That said, the staff were pleasant and efficient and... more
