I would warn others about their cancellation policy. I made a booking in May 2013 for September 2013 and paid a third of the cost as a desposit, then due to unforeseen circumstances I had to cancel it 5 days before the arrival date. I telephoned the Bactonleigh well within their 48 hours cancellation timescale set by the T&C’s on... More

We stayed for 3 nights, a place to stay for our fishing trip. Glenn and Julie were lovely, and were very helpful. We had a lovely welcome. Breakfast was yum and the room was perfect! We will definitely be staying again, great value for money ... thanks guys :)

4 of us stayed over just one night for a fishing trip in the town. We were late arriving after our day out on the sea, but had a very warm welcome with a smile. The rooms were more than adequate for our needs. Being a guest house they were not overly large, but clean, fresh and supplied with tea... More

We booked a last minute weekend stay at this hotel and weren't disappointed. We were greeted by a very pleasant young lady, given our keys and shown immediately to our room with an offer of help with our luggage. The room was very clean with plenty of room to store our things and also included a small table with a... More

Booked this hotel for 2 nights after reading reviews. We were not disappointed. A very warm welcome awaited us as we were shown to our comfortable room. I believe the adverse photos shown earlier by a guest had been taken from this room. What a pity they had focused on a tiny corner of the garden and not shown the... More

We spent last weekend at Bactonleigh, and had made our booking on the recommendation of a friend. We were very pleased with our accommodation. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and we had en suite facilities with a good shower and somewhere to put our toiletries. We were greeted by Glen when we arrived (a little earlier than... More

Booked purely on price initially as all I wanted was a bed with breakfast and somewhere to get a shower. I was offered a single room with separate toilet/bathroom facilities which suited me fine as I was on my own and wouldn't be spending much time in the hotel. On arrival I'd been 'upgraded' to a family ensuite for the... More

Turned up late unexpected, given price, got shown to room, no fuss left to sort out things in the morning. After a good hot bath and good nights sleep had a 6/10 breakfast and paid on depature happy with the sevice, cleanliness and room. Youre paying for 7/10 so dont expect 10/10.
