We have just stayed at The Old Stables for 4 nights and had a lovely relaxing break. The property is ideally situated, slightly uphill from the Blenheim Gardens. We chose the property for its close location to town and the seafront. We stayed in Apartment 1 on the ground floor due to mobility issues. This had a king size bed and a double sofa bed. The room has a small kitchenette which includes kettle, toaster, microwave, hob, oven, fridge and sink. Everything that you need if you want to cater for yourself. We did use the oven a couple of times as we have a mix of eating out and self catering when we are away and had an Italian takeaway one evening. The room had great wifi and a smart TV which pleased the teenager. The room overlooks the courtyard and the owners property, however we did not feel overlooked or that our privacy was invaded at all. The courtyard was very nice with lovely plants and lights. The parking is on the street outside and this was very quiet. Neil parked his own car there to save us a space to ensure we could get parked after I explained our mobility issues. The room was clean and tidy and the bedlinen was very soft and comfortable. The bed was comfortable with plenty of bedding and pillows provided. There were also 2 heaters provided which we were grateful for as it was quite cold due to the weather. There are 2 radiators in the room which come on and off at set times. The bathroom is large with a really good shower. All towels and linen were provided. They also provide shampoo and conditioner and body wash. Toilet roll was also provided. The room is nicely furnished and has plenty of room for storage. There were also some torches there which was a nice touch as given the weather warning for high winds, we had been worried that the power might go, but thankfully this didn't happen. Neil called us to let us know that the room was ready which was a good couple of hours before we expected to check in, so we were very grateful for that. We were offered milk upon arrival, and there is tea and coffee provided along with bottles of water. We were unlucky with the weather so did spend a bit more time in the room than we expected to, playing cards and just generally chilling out, so we were glad that it was so light and spacious. We did venture out each day trying to dodge the rain showers, visiting the harbour, sea front, amusement arcade (a must for the teen) and some local tea shops. On the one sunny day that we had, we had a good explore of the high street and all the various shops. For supplies, Minehead high street (The Avenue) has a Co-op and a Poundland and we were able to buy everything that we required from there. Location wise, it was a short walk across Blenheim Gardens to The Avenue. The sea front was a short walk down the road. Minehead has a steam train, which although we did not go on this time, we have been on in the past. I highly recommend this property. Our party was a senior citizen, myself and my teenage daughter. We all loved the room and enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again one day.

Lovely and warm apartment, quiet, everything we could have needed to be self sufficient for our mini break. Handy for town centre and beach. Helpful owner on site. Good parking on quiet road outside. Good sized television, comfortable beds. Very relaxing stay

Absolutely lovely. Very modern, VERY clean, good fast WiFi, good parking, easy to use and clean facilities. The beds were very comfortable and there was lots of space around them and lots of space in the beds. The runners (Neil and Nikki) were absolutely lovely, friendly, helpful and accommodating. They were quiet and easy to access. The only thing about this place is that 1. The ground floor (where we stayed) doesn’t have net curtains so you have to have the blinds closed all the time for privacy, and the rooms atmosphere was damp - probably just the atmosphere in the area, but a dehumidifier would work wonders in the room. The shower I was most impressed with. Never ran out of hot water, very clean and new and easy to use. There was no freezer but the fridge was very good and the oven and grill were easy to use too. Incredibly enjoyable stay, would definitely recommend and stay again

There’s really not a lot I can add to what has already been said in previous reviews. Alyson & Simon are the consummate b & b hosts. Not for a minute did we feel we were guests in someone’s home - in fact I came close to taking up residence, I felt that comfortable! 😄 Excellent quality bed, great food, peaceful surroundings &, last but not least, brilliant vacuum system (aka Jasper) Quite possibly the best b & b we have ever stayed in (both sides of the Atlantic) !

We've just returned from 5 nights at The Old Stables and were very impressed with everything. The room was very comfortable and well equipped with a fridge, microwave and a proper oven. Everything was spotlessly clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful with advice on restaurants etc. We would highly recommend The Old Stables.

Stayed here with the husband for a long weekend in October, fabulous hospitality and exceptionally clean and attractive rooms in a prime location in Minehead. Owners were friendly and helpful about recommendations for cafes and walks in the local area. Have stayed in a few places in Minehead and this has been my favourite so far, will be returning.

Spotlessly clean and fantastically equipped studio apartment in a great location, nice and tranquil but only a five minute walk to the town centre. Minehead Harbour which has a great foodie pub is also only a five minute walk in the opposite direction. Neil and Nicky are wonderful hosts. We will definitely return!
