Great welcome upon arrival, caravan was very close to the reception/shop/riding. Our caravan was very very clean, well equipped and comfy. We noticed the windows were spotless too! The views out towards the hills were wonderful. The hack out brilliant and lovely to see the ponies let out in the fields on Friday evening. We walked into Porlock over the... More

We've stayed at Burrowhayes now into our 4th year on word of mouth recommendation from both friends, colleagues and from the equestrian world. Julian and Marion who run the place are the perfect hosts always happy to help and really friendly as are the staff working there. It is spotlessly clean, well organised and with lovely showerblocks and other facilities.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here even though it was early season and weather was a bit cold. A well run campsite in a charming setting with excellent facilities and friendly family staff. Showers, toilets, laundry and pot cleaning facilities all modern, clean, warm and with plenty of hot running water (even in mid-March). Would love to come back and... More

We unexpectedly camped here in summer 2014, after having to detour following our car breaking down, and what a pleasant surprise it was. The campsite is located in beautiful Exmoor, which can be explored by car, bicycle and foot (great walks into the hills). The hosts were very welcoming (and accommodating, as we hadn’t booked!) and we met wonderful people.... More

The only minor issue for us was that a lot of the site is on a hill, which for camping in a tent is a bit of a nuisance. After the first night on the hill, we managed to agree a move to the grass adjacent to a campervan where family were staying (electric hook up for them). That made... More

Burrowhayes Farm is a beautiful, peaceful, old-fashioned campsite in a glorious setting. The atmosphere on site is terrific and the wash block very clean and modern. We had a lovely couple of days here exploring Exmoor, Porlock and Dunster. We will definitely be back!

We have stayed here 3 times now it just gets better. We stayed on honeymoon; we stayed for a week’s holiday now we have just come back from a weekend break with friends, brilliant. Location is amazing, lovely laid out pitches. Upon entering the site lovely stone bridge, beautiful stream where they still allow children to play. Lovely stables, well... More

Our first visit to this site which we booked following an online search. The location is beautiful, right in the Exmoor hills and well placed for walking and visiting the Somerset and North Devon countryside. The approach to the site is down a tight country lane and through a fairly narrow gate. It was very busy when we stayed (high... More

The setting is just superb, surrounded by the Exmoor hills and the ponies from the stables graze in the adjacent field. A wide-in places shallow stream pleasantly babbles its way alongside the site and children don’t seem to miss the lack of a play area. Instead, they are happily playing with fishing nets or just splashing around in the water.... More

I have just got back from here and thought I would share my experience! I was with a family who have been coming to Burrowhayes for many years. It is a family run site in beautiful location tucked away in exmoor national park. The shower block is fantastic along with the actual site itself! Horse riding and horse feeding along... More
