I stayed and volunteered at this hostel for 2 weeks and has a lovely time, the staff and other quests we very kind and great to talk to and play cards with. the facilities were good and clean and the wood burning stove made the place very homely.

Lovely cosy edwardian house , now youth hostel secreted on edge of town at Minehead. Good base for walks or the beach. Set in secluded woods, the kids will love and has deer grazing in gardens at dawn. Well worth a visit to get away from modern life, nice staff, basic clean accomodation that can be hired as family rooms... More

For the 16th year running we have rented a youth hostel for a long weekend for exclusive hire. We have stayed at Minehead on many occasions, and this year we found it to be very comfortable and easy to accommodate our large group of teenagers to 60 year olds. Thank you Andrew, we will be back.

An unknown quantity, for me Minehead represented B*tlitz and donkey rides..or is that Weston.. anyway booked one night for a bit of walking and tea-room visiting with my other half. Wonderful. House set along an unmade road, surrounded by trees. I expected Scooby-Doo and co to appear. House clean and comfortable. Yes bit dated but location fab. Guy on the... More

The YHA hostel in Minehead is a very nice and clean hostel with a nice staff. The location provides plenty of opportunities for exploring Exmoor. The nearby town houses the necessary shopping facilities and places to go on a Saturday evening. I absolutely recommend it!

Many thanks for your kind words. Minehead has a lot to offer...some lovely independent shops and cafes (Toucan is a favourite of ours for their homemade food!!). Quiet at night though...most people come for Exmoor's special qualities!! Andrew More

We feel we have found a real gem! The setting is beautiful, the grounds allowed ample space for our children aged 10 - 15 years to run around and have lots of fun. We booked the whole Youth Hostel for the weekend, it held 9 adults and 10 children with ease and felt really cosy and homely. The beds are... More

We stayed here in the wet summer just gone, and had a lovely few days on our way down the south west. This place is a little hard to find and not in the town at all, but in a wonderful setting. We arrived too early to be checked in, so stayed in the hostel to avoid the rain...with a... More

Many thanks for choosing to stay with us...it certainly was rather wet at times in August!! A great place to come back too, even after a bit of a wash-out day on Exmoor. More

This is a wonderful place, really quiet, in the middle of the wood, very near to the bridleways, so the perfect place where to stay if you want to explore the Exmoor National Park. Breakfast and dinner are great, and the hostel is very comfortable and clean. The staff is amazing, nice and polite, they really do a marvellous job!... More

YHA Minehead is a real gem with the friendliest staff you could imagine. Set in a beautiful and tranquil surrounding it is the perfect place to be when exploring Exmoor national park. There are nice bridleways for walking just around the corner. (Literally, behind the house.) The breakfast is great, and the place is kept spotless by its friendly warden.
