I booked into a room which was described as a harbour view. If you get passed looking at the countless bins and recycling at the back of pub to the 'harbour view' then ok. But certainly not what I was expecting. The room smelt damp, it was extremely basic. The small TV was fixed to the far corner of the... More

Not expensive; clean & tidy accommodation and yes it is "en suite" but to be honest I've been in roomier showers in caravans, and the sink defies anyone to wash both hands at the same time. Good breakfast though and food menu is certainly different. Plenty of people in the pub in the evening. Ok for overnight but not sure... More

We booked at short notice as most other hotels were fully booked or a bit on the pricy side, didn't expect anything more than a cheap and cheerful couple of nights . . . how wrong we were, far from being cheap and cheerful, everything was excellent. The bed linen was spotlessly clean and crisp, our room was lovely and... More

The evening food here is fine and there are good real ales, so I've done a separate review for it. The B&B, however, was disappointing. It's not a hugely expensive place (but neither is it as cheap as chips) and it is a pub so we were not going to grumble about the accommodation, which is a little on the... More

Having stayed here under old management , it was nice to experience the new improvements under the new management. Better room, nice comfortable bed, re-furbished bathrooms better quality food and service. Free Wifi too with code. With those improvements goes slightly higher prices, but I think you will find it's worth it for a bed that does not have springs... More

Another fantastic weekend at the old ship since the new ownership, the bedrooms are spotless with the most comfortable beds, food excellent and the home made profiteroles are to die for, hospitality superb, cant fault anything. Well done Julian and the crew, you have really turned the old ship around, we cant wait to return in the very near future.

stayed here before and after new ownership - much improved - clean, en-suite rooms with good quality towels and toiletries and effective shower. food is very reasonable with some nice touches and an excellent range of beers - breakfast was excellent. just out of town centre but an easy 10 minute walk. I was on a sea fishing trip so... More

Mrs A and I found this pub when we recently stayed in Minehead. Although we were staying at another hotel, we wanted somewhere different to eat. The Old Ship Aground turned out to be a delightful find - wonderful staff, an excellent kitchen and a first-class chef. And Ringwood beer! - well, two brews, anyway. We were in the town... More
