I am reviewing this as a pub not as a hotel.Dog friendly, very friendly bar staff and locals who actually talk to you. Very good beer and good bar food what more do you want out of a pub. Massive beer garden with fabulous views. 100% highly recommended as a good proper pub.

We went to the Blue Anchor for Sunday lunch, and yes the outside is tired and the inside dated (but imagine the costs involved in revamping a building as big as this) but the service was good and friendly and the Sunday roast was jolly good. It was really nice to see a few genuine locals at the bar, dogs... More

We were staying nearby in a caravan and as I had been looking for places to eat before we went I had seen the reviews were not too good. There was 1 other pub/restaurant in the vicinity and we found that very claustrophobic with a limited menu so we went to the Blue Anchor. In fact we went 3 times.... More

This place has so much potential and is just going to waste. We were staying at a lodge nearby and the Blue Anchor was the only pub in walking distance. We went in at 8.40 (they are meant to serve till 9) so we quickly chose and went to the bar to order. The man taking the order quickly said... More

The view from the garden is amazing a real tourism attraction, unfortunately the attraction stops there.we went for lunch (family of 6 adults and a child) We ventured into the garden where the view was interrupted by a large rundown partially deflated bouncy castle ( health and safety would not be impressed). My daughters went to order our drinks and... More

The hotel is in a fantastic position, on the edge of cliff overlooking Blue Anchor Bay close to Watchet and the Steam Railway. It is sadly rather fraying round the edges, (a bit like us), but really very good value for a basic B & B pub with a typical bar menu for the evenings. Again the comment saying it... More

We were staying at Horborne Blue Anchor when my parents decided to come down for a few days, having nowhere booked to stay they called at the Blue Anchor Hotel and thought it couldn't be as bad inside as it looked from the outside - It was worse. They asked if they could look at the rooms, one £65.00 a... More

We visited with friends one evening are were taken aback by the lack of cleanliness in the bar area. We did not order food as the dinners we saw looked very unappetising and several people had dogs in the dining area. The waitress appeared very friendly, although the Landlord needs a course in customer relations. not worth the visit.

I stopped at this pub for an early evening meal with my family, after my children spotted the Bouncy Castle and trampoline in Beer Garden. While the garden itself was quite nice, perched on top of a cliff and enjoying a sweeping view of the beach, the pub itself was extremely dated. Stuck in a 1970s time warp, id argue... More

Its in such a good spot and you would expect it to be a really nice country inn but it's not. we parked in the overgrown car park and there was no direct access from the car park which is unusual and the only way was down the invisible from the car park dangerous stone steps. when we got to...
