Its in such a good spot and you would expect it to be a really nice country inn but it's not. we parked in the overgrown car park and there was no direct access from the car park which is unusual and the only way was down the invisible from the car park dangerous stone steps. when we got to... Been before, so knew was ok. Tidy menu, with specials / lunch time deals. Food was good - proper pub food. Nothing fancy, just good grub, good service, nice place to put feet up after a walk along beach.

We stopped for our evening dinner. Monday is pie night and I had Steak and Kidney. I found it really yummy and if you love kidneys it had loads! They also had red stripe beer on tap! The place is a bit tired but it's open as most pubs these days are closing!

This place is a superb location and having been here as a youngster I am really disappointed that it has been run down so much. The place is untidy and scruffy. The only reasonable thing is the food and is only reasonable. The staff could do with pulling their socks up and smile at their clients or they won't have... More

I went to a meeting at this apology for a 'hotel'. The room was cold, dark and was only chosen because the car park was big enough. It was off season in a slow time of day. There is no excuse for this negligence. Any resemblance between this property and a hostelry is strictly imaginary. The best thing a new... More

This watering hole is as you enter (or leave) a hidden gem! Blue Anchor beach. You can walk from here to Minehead. The pub offers good food indoors or out on an elevated garden area and accommodation too. Although I have never stayed overnight, it is very seasonal dependent so investment has to trickle. Sitting in the sun overlooking the... More

We walk our dogs regularly at Blue Anchor and use the various pubs and cafe. The Blue Anchor is very dog friendly whilst food is ok but needs some love and attention inside and out. Great play area out side for the kids and the view is spectacular across the bay as they are half way down the hill into... More

I just returned from a family day out with Thomas the Tank Engine which was fab. My wife and kids had a great time and we stayed at this hotel which really was great value for money. Let me start by saying that the views from the clean family room were absolutely amazing, the staff were extremely welcoming making our... More

We spent the weekend @ The Blue Anchor hotel Minehead taking the kids to see Thomas the Tank Engine and was struggling to find accommodation in the area at a reasonable price. A good friend of mine mentioned staying at this hotel and after checking the reviews on Tripadvisor my wife was not so keen to stay! However, after a... More
