we spent three nights in the Marston Lodge, a relaxed hotel high above central Minehead, Very good breakfasts and I enjoyed the sitting room where I got to read the Telegraph for the first time in a decade. Good local knowledge imparted by Mr de Mendoza on the tracks - let's not call them roads - around Exmoor. Minehead is... More

3 night stay at this gem of a hotel with partner, who had been here before while working and liked it so much he wanted to come back on holiday. The hotel is situated in the North Hill area of Minehead, which is a delightful hillside dotted with genteel Edwardian houses, all unique and set in mature gardens. Marston Lodge... More

very enjoyable 3 day stay. clean comfortable room, Alex has a good knowledge of the local area and the information he gave us was very helpful for our explorations. The excellent breakfasts also set us up well for the days! The hillside position afforded panoramic views and is just a ten minute walk to the seafront and town

We stayed here for 2 nights last week and booked 2 rooms, a twin for our boys and a double for me and my husband. The rooms were lovely, with real character, both with new bathrooms. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of cereal, juice etc as well as a delicious cooked breakfast. The real highlight was Alex,s... More

The owner was very welcoming and always made sure guests were happy. Rooms were great, breakfasts superb, and the whole place was well worth the walk up the hill! We only stayed 2 nights but would definitely go again - maybe in Autumn or Spring when the cosy lounge will have log fires!! Ideal for exploring Exmoor.

Stayed with a group of friends who all enjoy walking. The hotel is situated in the prettiest part of Minehead up a steep hill near to the church which is surrounded by quaint cottages and cobbled walkways. The hotel has excellent views out to sea, over Minehead, and across to rolling hills, yet is only a 10 minute walk down... More
