We chose the Marston Lodge for its location upon the hill, affording elevated views which were a pleasure to enjoy. Furnished with unique collections of art and antiques it was the perfect spot, from which to explore Minehead. Fuelled by a hearty cooked breakfast, Alex prepared us in mind and soul for our walk to Porlock Weir. Breakfast was made... More

Stayed (middle aged couple) at the Marston for 5 nights recently and can only agree with recent reviews. Our room (6) had excellent views and was very comfortable. The 'Full English' breakfast is one of the best I have had (and I've eaten a few!) excellent ingredients, cooked to individual liking and served with a smile by Alex. Alex does... More

This Hotel is the perfect antidote to the usual faceless chain hotels. The rooms are individually furnished with Antique furniture, the breakfast is great and it has a view like no other in the area. But best of all are the owners, who are the perfect hosts and will do there best to make your stay perfect. I will be... More

We stayed at this hotel because of the excellent reviews and we were not disappointed. The breakfast was all you could ask for with eggs kindly supplied by the resident hens. Alex provided us with a map marked with a suggested scenic route taking us to areas which we wouldn't have otherwise found. Couldn't fault our weekend stay, looking forward... More

If you want to wake up in Edwardian splendour with the best view in town then this is the place for you. Great breakfast too. Can't wait to visit Minehead again. And soon. There is ample parking at the front and even a full size snooker table.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Marston Lodge this past weekend and we thought it was tremendous. It's a beautiful building with fantastic décor and artwork throughout, with a beautiful view from our room over Minehead and the coast. Alex was a tremendous host, with refreshing enthusiasm about his local area and sent us both on a marvellous tour around... More

A group of us friends stayed here last summer for a few days and having enjoyed it so much we came again this summer. Only two of us could make it this time but Naomi remembered us and greeted us like old friends. She and Alex are wonderful hosts and accommodate their guests beautifully; quirks and all. The hotel is... More

I can't recommend Marston Lodge highly enough. It's a beautiful period house, elegantly and comfortably furnished with some great artwork in every room. It's lovely and clean with attractive gardens. Our room was large, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished, with a comfortable bed, stylish en suite. huge windows affording stunning views of the sea, the town below and the rolling... More

We stayed at the Marston Lodge for one night and our stay was very enjoyable. The bedroom was overlooking Minehead and was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is set up on the hill overlooking Minehead. There was also plenty of choice at breakfast.

I stayed at Marston Lodge last year (2013) and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Stayed again this year, and if I visit MInehead in the future, I will be sure to stay there again. The hotel has a lot of charm and is full of character. My room was very comfortable, the view from my bedroom windows was amazing, and the... More
