Went here a few weeks ago with family for a Sunday carvery. The choice of meats was good and the whole dinner was excellent. And there was a massive list of desserts! Would thoroughly recommend this place if you are visiting Exmoor or staying close by.

Many thanks for your comments we do have quite a selection of homemade desserts including the obscure ones like Junket! (old fashioned pudding which is very popular - just dont ask Caroline to describe it!) If you are nearby please do come and see us again! More

We rocked up here on a Sunday for a bite to eat not expecting it to be busy... How wrong we were! It was very busy and after a brief wait we were shown to a table downstairs. We then headed towards the Carvery for our food... A great selection of veg and good portions of meat made for a... More

We stayed at this old inn on the Saturday of a friend's wedding. The greeting on arrival was very warm and although we arrived outside of the times they normally serve food they happily supplied us with sandwiches of tender, juicy beef, just right to keep us going until the celebrations began. Our room was spacious, clean and well decorated... More

Many thanks for your comments. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We do try to make sure we look after our guests. I appreciate 9am is a little early for a sunday but we have a very short time frame in which to turn everything around ready for the Lunchtime shift. (Bacon and Sausages are definitely not... More

We've just returned home from a long weekend break and can't wait to return. The staff and owners are very welcoming and helpful, the room was comfortable and quiet. We ate at the inn twice and found the food scrumptious. All in all we were very happy with our stay and have no complaints.

A truly friendly and welcoming establishment with great food and drink. We spent an evening in the skittle alley which was a whole world of fun, until gone 1am when we realised everyone else had disappeared to bed. It’s a perfect location in the middle of Exmoor from where a talented and dedicated person can easily arrange some wonderful walks... More

Great atmosphere, great food, great beer and great entertainment. We were lucky enough to stay here for our regular Autumn walking trip and we were very well looked after. A few members of our party are arthritic and so the small pairs of scissors which could be found on every table in the sauce sachet boats were a boon (so... More

Old fashioned values such as politness, helpfulness and friendliness are "a plenty" here. Eric Norman, the Landlord, his family and staff go the extra mile to make your time at the Inn enjoyable. Well kept real ale on draught and scrumpy cider were available and both very enjoyable, although the scrumpy does need to be treated with caution; it's STRONG!... More

Dear JohnanChris. Many thanks for your comments. So pleased you were happy with the service you received. We are a family run pub with some extremely awesome staff! Somerset is Cider country so it wouldn't be a good pub if the scrumpy didn't knock your socks off! So pleased you enjoyed your food during your stay! We look forward to... More

Stayed for 3 nights for a walking break in May. Even though we got stuck in awful Bank Holiday traffic and arrived after the kitchen shut we were given a good-sized sandwich. Very friendly staff (and a fascinating cast of characters in the bar), large, comfortable room (albeit with some interesting slopes to the floor due to the age of... More

Dear Ian. Many thanks for your comments. We are pleased that we were able to look after you after a long tiring journey! Local Characters in the bar I think makes a country pub! We have designed our menu to be exactly that -typical country "PUB" food, the chef gets to be experimental with his specials board, but we would... More
