Had Saturday lunch with the extended family just after Christmas. We were greeted warmly on our arrival at 12:30 and guided to the restaurant. Unfortunately, unlike the welcome, the room was freezing. There seemed to be a fire, but this hadn't been lit. Some of the party kept their coats on throughout. The service was noticeably slow, even though only... More

We stayed at the Swan Hotel for one night, and would certainly recommend it. The pub itself is traditional and cosy, the rooms are quaint but very comfortable, and the breakfast is superb! Very good value, friendly landlord and nice and quiet surroundings. The only negative points would be that in our bathroom, the bath was very small, the shower... More

Went to a family surprise birthday recently and unexpected stayed at this lovely and cosy little hotel/pub. The room was quite small but had a very comfortable bed. Kettle, coffee, tea and biscuits were supplied. No hairdryer but had a big TV. Breakfast in the brick and beamed dining room was lovely - must be cosy in the winter with... More

We’d booked a room as we were attending a wedding in the village that day. We arrived at lunchtime, and managed to order a quick sandwich which was perfect for our needs and which we could eat before we went up to our room to get changed. And our room…! We’d booked particularly early, as soon as we were invited... More

We got married in Ecchinswell (the next village, where I grew up) in December and spent our wedding night at The Swan. Even though it's in the next village, I'd never really been to The Swan but we wanted somewhere as close to the venue as possible and this was it. I loved staying there. When you've known a place... I stay here from time to time and always find it friendly and welcoming. The food is good and reasonably priced and the breakfast excellent. Some of the rooms are quite small but if you're on your own who cares when there is a very nice bar with good ales and friendly locals.

We had a very pleasant overnight stay here. we were helped with our luggage to our room and nothing seemed to be too much trouble.Comfy room with nice clean sheets and towels. The room was clean but had some dust on top of wardrobe and inside the wardrobe and on the hangers. The fan in the batroom had a big... More

A village pub with lively bar trade. Bedroom was perfectably acceptable, clean and well maintained. The over bath shower was not the most powerful. Some noise from below until closing time. Food was basic but well served by a most polite waitress. Breakfast was sufficient to start the day. In an area renowned for pretentious and generally faceless establishments aimed... More

I regularly stay here as an alternative to the plastic (and much more expensive) corporate hotels whilst on business. You always get a warm welcome from the owners, and the food available in the bar (or the restaurant if you prefer) is great quality, and value. The Swan is essentially a pub with rooms, but all of them have been... More
