The room was usual travelodge fare, however we were unable to use the bed settee due to a large (unidentifiable) stain on it. 3 light bulbs missing or did not work, fire doors which should have been shut were hanging open. We reported this to reception but nothing was done. I think this is the worst travelodge I have stayed... more

We decided to stay here, on route from Norfolk to Wales. Location was perfect, however... First impressions were not good with NAZI SYMBOL DRAWN ON WINDOW, which hadn't been cleaned off. Furthermore there were dubious stains (semen) on the sofa!! light fittings were hanging off the walls, the door handle to the bathroom coming off, and showere fitting also was... more

We had stayed at this Travelodge before and it's gone downhill. An indication was that almost all the doors in our corridor had the ends of screws sticking out where I imagine small hooks to hang "do not disturb" notices on had once been. We had modified our family room booking to include two grandchildren but there were only three... more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while attending a show in Newbury. The location is good but the travelodge doesn't have much else going for it. The room, although reasonably clean, was not exactly well-appointed. The towel rail in the bathroom had been disconnected and the bed was very uncomfortable. The first night we were provided with... more

This Travelodge is very conveniently placed just off the west bound M4. It is clean, tidy, cheap and the staff are helpful. There service stop is little way off the motorway so that the traffic does not disturb you once you are in the hotel. The adjoining service station has a cafe and a M&S Simply Food shop. As usual... more

It seems that most Travelodges nowadays come out of an identikit box - not only the rooms but the buildings themselves. This one is no exception. Easy to find as it's part of the Chieveley services just off the M4. Reception was courteous and efficient. Machines in reception for hot and cold drinks and snacks. Standard Travelodge rooms - clean... more

My wife and I stayed at the Travelodge M4 Chieveley Newbury for 1 night for a suprise birthday for a friend and thought the hotel to be a typical Travelodge but very cheap to book. As the name suggests, the hotel is situated within the services area off junction 13 of the M4 (suggest not using the AA directions before... more

Considering I paid only £15 and £26 for a 2 night stay, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality. Spotless rooms, little noise even though its situated right on the M4, and ideal location for what I was doing. Would recommend this as a great place for a short stay to anybody. more

OK it's the usual Travelodge fare... room was clean and tidy, bed comfortable, checkin was functional but lacking charisma with the receptionist explaining to the previous customer about how Travelodge 'overbook' rooms so make sure you get there in time ! My room was at the back overlooking the lorry park, which woke up at 6:30am so a touch noisy.... more

Being on the motorway services makes this Travelodge ideal for an overnight stop, but that's about all it has going for it. I stayed here on 5th September. Check-in was efficient but charmless. There was an overbearing smell of bleach in my room which although non-smoking, had cigarette ash on the window sill. The only ventillation in the room came... more
