We spent one night here and were very impressed with it. Our room was actually more of an apartment with a kitchenette and sofa. Very clean and warm, the breakfast was of a self service style with bagels, cereal, tea, coffee etc in very generous quantities, it was just the two of us but it would have fed six! We... More

Stopped here for Sunday lunch, having stopped when passing previously for a sandwich (equally as good!). Service was good - the staff certainly earn their money - and food was plentiful and excellent value.

We stopped off here for a meal on a Friday night whilst enroute to Bicester. It's very convenient for the A34. There were lots of locals drinking in the pub and the car park was very busy. The restaurant was at the back of the pub. The food was typical traditional pub fare with large portions and some specials. My... More

2 nights in the family suite room 1. Our Father is 85 and loved the peace & quiet of the place. We came to retrace his childhood & birth in Kintbury, Inkpen & Hungerford. Lovely county'side views from the back room. A few squeaky doors but the place was clean & tidy. Well stocked. Coukd have dine with a few... More

A friendly welcome and a good range of food. We stopped off for lunch and just needed something light. They had a full menu and daily specials to choose from but we went for their "doorstep" sandwiches of bacon and brie. Excellent, served with tortilla chips and salad. Watch out for the Tuesday Silver Saver "Two courses set menu £6.... More

Stayed here for one night after visiting Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) on a girls day out. Three of us shared the family room (Room 1) which consists of one double, one twin, small kitchen and bathroom. We were exceedingly surprised and delighted with the quality of the room and facilities. A budget price but not a 'cheap' one. The food... More

If you like large portions, proper pastry and a mountain of chips then this is the place for you. A lovely steak and ale pie followed by a toffee crunch pudding and ice cream. ... my idea of heaven. And a very warm welcome as well. Can't praise enough.

We stopped for lunch on a Saturday while travelling on the A34 had a super lunch. Great food good beers and excellent service. We were so impressed we stopped for lunch on our return journey on Sunday. Will consider overnighting here in their B & B. A good old fashioned pub.

Stopped here for 2 nights in room number 2 for a visit to newbury racecourse. A very friendly young girl took us to our room which looked lovely and clean but once in there were a few cobwebs in the bathroom and something all over the picture above the bed (not sure what it was) The kettle was nice and...
