The price and the location in the town centre are the selling points for this hotel. If you stop here often in summer I'd recommend getting a key to open the windows to full width (jacklock keys off ebay are a couple of quid) as the rooms can get pretty hot. The hotel is due a refurb in August and... More

in warm weather the 4th floor is unbearable. It has the plant equipment up there and no ventilation. I know this as the receptionist was telling the guy checking in before me. Then happily handed me a key for room 412! At least i had advance warning I guess! My room was 85 degrees+ with a window that opens 3... More

Cheap hotel about £30 normal Travelodge no real parking at hotel but they allowed me to park at the front for 30 mins whilst I unpacked. Free parking near hotel ( a few yards away) for 2 hours between 8am and 6pm Car park about a minutes walk away about £1 an hour although night time rate of £1 between... More

We booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding in the area, and this was the cheapest priced hotel we could find (£33 a room). I wasn't expecting anything flash, but had the impression (possibly from another comment on tripadvisor or on the Travelodge website) that the hotel was due a refurbishment in June 2014. This wasn't the case... More

My resent stay at the Travelodge London Road Newbury could only be compared with a 1970's Holiday camp , and I think the bed must of come from a 70's Holiday camp, its quite possible that this was the worst bed I have ever TRIED to sleep in. DONT BOTHER

We are sorry to learn you found your bed was uncomfortable Paul M. Spent one night here in order to go to the race meeting. Room was very clean and shower was excellent. Plenty of room and little noise. Poor choice of TV channels but otherwise nothing to complain about. Staff were very helpful. Location is very good - on the edge of the town but only around a 10 minute walk to... More

Boiling hot in the room, open the window and it cools, but you get all of Newbury in your room too, but hey, its £32, perfectly clean, acceptably comfortable, my core temp is still 2 degrees above normal 3 days later, but 32 quid, I'm good with that!!!

Newer hotel and smaller than the older travel lodges in the area so the room was tiny and the noise outside was loud! I did not sleep well in the new but cheap bed. The hotel had no breakfast facilities and no car parking either.

Spent one night here to go into town for a celebration. As with most Travelodges, this was functional with all amenities. Checking in and out was easy with polite and friendly staff. A very comfortable bed and clean rooms, exactly what you need when you aren't going to be spending time in your room, although a good sized TV and... More

We stayed for two nights at this Travelodge. The first night we were put in Room 209, we could feel every spring in the mattress and it made awful twanging noises every time we moved! Neither of us had a particularly good nights sleep and had aching backs in the morning. We were offered extra pillows when we arrived but... More
