Romantic weekend away with my husband for my birthday. Arrived Friday afternoon welcomed by reception and went up to our Room - Really nice four poster bed with a lovely bathroom overlooking the front gardens very pleased. No atmosphere in bar and restaurant area so we decided to go out for a pub meal. Got back about 8.30 went to... More

In fairness our visit here started well, with probably the best reception and interaction we've had anyway. Nadia on the front desk was delightful, engaging, funny, polite and informative. Then we went to our room and were impressed at the size, view, bathroom and especially the four poster bed. It being Mrs B's birthday weekend we went out for dinner... More

Outside Newbury in quiet grounds. Arrived late at night in rain so can't say much about facilities but good reception from staff. Seemed to have lots of business folk milling about so probably not the best place for families in the week at least.

Stayed here for a two night conference and enjoyed the experience, though those annoyed by the quirks of older hotels/houses may not be so happy. I'd love to give this venue a 4, but it is only 3 because the quirks and minor issues undermine what could otherwise be excellent: Lovely fire in the reception area, but the smell of... More

Had a fantastic weekend hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean and smart. Stunning views and our room was very comfortable with a large bed. Would be perfect if it had leisure facilities. Will come back again

Pleasant room, lovely breakfast, clean and comfortable. Excellent function room and fabulous evening meal and disco. This is the second year we have been to this hotel for our Christmas do and each have been excellent.

The hotel is fabulous and the staff are lovely, but during my three-night stay, I was woken every night by banging pipes. When I told reception (on check out) this was written down on a scrap of paper. Avoid room 22. Added to that the very poor wi-fi, the broken chain on my door and the fact the cleaner left... More

Good Hotel, good staff, good service. Out of town, but good location with scenic grounds in the countryside. Good sized rooms, decent breakfast and good food, but given a choice there's a couple of restaurants within 5 minutes drive which are much better.

Elcot park is an estate that has been turned into a character venue for meetings and has a hotel. There is ample parking on site and the facilities for business meetings are very good. The open fire in reception smoked a little and there was that smokey smell around the building. Food for lunch came in an abundance and for... More
