Earlier this year I visited the Donnington Grove Hotel and had some issues, which I articulated on this website. I decided to give the hotel another try and stayed there a couple of weeks ago. I have nothing but good things to say about the hotel. The room was beautiful, the service by staff was wonderful and the food was... More

I stayed as part of a corporate golf day and was disappointed by the room and food served. From the outside it look very nice and the reception has a nice feel but the rooms felt 20 years old and left me disappointed. I wouldn't pay my own money to stay here but it wasn't terrible just mediocre.

Just stayed the one night for my uncle's 90th birthday. Very nice quiet location - golf course. Beautiful building. Staff helpful. The place is not so welcoming and cosy as I expected - was noisy in our room from a door banging loudly half the night when people came in. Breakfast was not bad but again no real atmoshpere. Had... I booked this hotel for a suprise end to our 25th wedding anniversary for my Wife. As we were coming from Southampton on the A34 this was ideally situated. The first sight of the hotel is very impressive from the driveway. Met by very friendly hotel staff on reception who informed us that we had been upgraded to a top... More

We held our wedding here a few weeks ago and really cannot say enough about this place. Charlie the Events Manager is worth his weight in gold - I would quite like to package him up and bring him back to America with me to keep my life as organized as our wedding reception was!! Everything was impeccable and he... More

We booked this hotel as part of a Sunday special golf package. That is dinner, bed and breakfast and two rounds of golf. We were allocated the rooms in the summer house which were spacious, modern and very comfortable. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was excellent with a great shower and lovely toiletries and towels. Tea making... More

I was looking forward to staying in a nice hotel and relaxing with a glass of wine in the bar after a hard day at work but it was not to be. This hotel looks grand from the outside but is tired and in need of some attention inside. The bar was soulless so I spent the evening in my... More

I stayed at this hotel last month with my 2 daughters, and what a delightful hotel ,and the room was simply georgous,a triple room facing the grounds, with plenty of room and elegant furniture. Roxy,on reception was really friendly,as was the night porter on duty, who went to get me the fresh milk on offer for your coffee.Loved it that much, that we have... More

Stayed last week with a group of 16. Our rooms excellent and modern despite the age of the building, which had real character. Beds comfortable and en suites modern. Nice compact hotel - short walk to everywhere. Staff v. friendly and approachable manager. Food good and everyone happy! Course was very good. Excellent challenging holes and all in good nick.... I stay at and visit this hotel on a regular basis. The hotel is lovely and very relaxing. The rooms vary massively which keeps it interesting. The food is good quality whether it's at the bar or in the restaurant. The golf course is excellent and make sure you have a lesson with Matt if you visit! Only complaint is... More
