Each October since 2000, I have attended an annual two day business event held on the Newbury Showground. A group of us came here on a Saturday evening whilst staying at the Travelodge nearby. This is a classic English pub with lovely detached accommodation full of character. The food is excellent with a good choice of menu, and the pub also has a good selection of real ales. Even though the pub is obviously popular as a restaurant, it hasn't lost it's pub atmosphere.

I found this place after a mess up with booking.com and what a find. Nicely appointed rooms, great food and a friendly village atmosphere. It was great to see the pub stacked out with locals and the device was excellent. I would highly recommend a stay here.

What a find!!!! Brand new cottage accommodation in the grounds of an English pub. Only 5 minutes from the M4/A34 (j13). The accomodation is located in the cottage adjacent to the pub so privacy is guaranteed. Wifi is available and free so its great for us business travellers.
