My wife and I booked a christmas event which included a delicious 4 course meal. We were entertained by a very good female vocalist, a disco and Scarborough's legend singer 'Seaside' Danny Wilde. As we live over 100 miles from Scarborough we decided to stay overnight and despite arctic weather conditions our room, which had a seaview, was warm and... more

Having read various reviews i was wary of booking this hotel however the price for a 3 night stay really appealed so we gave it a go,we arrived much earlier than expected but the receptionist had the room ready an hour and a half earlier than it should have been, room was a little dated but perfectly adequate, and considering you could... more

The only good thing about this hotel was the view. Were on the 3rd floor (lift only went to 2nd) only 1 bedside light worked, the bathroom was dingy and had a peculiar smell. Breakfast was in the basement, with plastic tableclothes, tea and coffee had to be made by yourself from a hot water flask, breakfast consisted of 1 rasher... more

Spent three nights in the second floor family room complete with sea views, standard of staff, food and location were all excellent. On the negative side the standard of decor within all areas is in need of much improvement espicially bedrooms and on-suite which although clean were of a very poor standard. Advertised off road parking was a strip of... more

Just returned from a 2 night weekend stay at the Clarence. Although yes the rooms are small and a little outdated, they are very typical of a seaside resort and we found them to be warm, comfortable and clean. The staff were very pleasent (even owning up to overcharging me for our evening meal by mistake), and the views across... more

The downstairs, game rooms and bar were very nice. Our room was way up on the 3rd floor. Although it had a great view, the room was small and reminded me of an old cottage. The staff was very kind and friendly, but all of the clientèle had much to be desired. They were very young, noisy and stayed out... more
