Just back from another great week-end at Green Gables. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was equipped with everything we needed for our stay, including washing up liquid, soap and complimentary tea, coffee etc which we weren't expecting. Our apartment was spotlessly clean and didn't smell damp as a previous review had mentioned. Yes the rooms and hotel... More

Walked in checked in. Friendly welcome. Told our room number. Walked in disgusting. Stunk of damp and dirt. Walked back out. Sorry but can't believe they can stay open saying this is a hotel is a joke!

This is our 3rd annual visit & we are already planning next years visit! Yes the decor is dated but that's all part of it's charm. The hotel & rooms are spotlessly clean and staff can't do enough for you. It is very friendly, warm and homely. My daughter & nieces aged 6, 5 & 2 have loved everything about... More

We have just returned from a 4 day stay , we had a great time exploring the area and the hotel was a great base.the room was very clean and comfortable.the hotel itself is a lovely old building with lots of history and so many old features, the tiled floors, stain glass windows and layout has not changed in years... arrived back on friday from a 5 day break at the green gables with our 2 grandchildren. We stayed in a 2 bedroomed flat and it was more than what we expected. I cannot understand why people complain as long as it is clean which it was. I can definately say for the facilities you get for the price you... More

our room was like something from the 1970s green wood chip wallpaper which was peeling off the wall, mattress was stained, our bed was propped up on a wooden block, the chairs in the room were plastic garden chairs. The bathroom suite was an olive green 70s special.overall not very clean or appealing. On the positive side the breakfast staff were friendly and helpful... We were most impressed with the breakfast quality, the breakfast room and the serving staff - really good. The building is impressive if dated and was clearly a spa facility in the past. Rooms are a good size and everything worked if a little basic and the pool was medium sized and good fun. This hotel serves a purpose for... More

Huge Victorian house, high ceilings and could be fantastic but clearly hasn't been updated since 1976. I can accept the dated bathroom and old misty windows as it would cost a lot to replace, but the bed linen? really, it's the sort you have tucked away at the back of the airing cupboard in case of an emergency. The pattern... More

Stayed in many places in Scarborough over the years and after one too many basil faulty, adams family, bed and breakfast experiences thought we'd try a hotel this time. Glad we did. GG is a grand old victorian hotel, with a range old rooms and self contained apartments. We had a double family room with three single beds in one... More
