We had a lovely few days at this wonderful Inn. Our room was lovely, clean and bright. We ate at the Inn on both evenings and the food was to die for. Absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back and we would have no hesitation to recommend this Inn.

This was our third visit to the hotel, which changed ownership in 2014, since our last visit. A very warm welcome by the proprietors wife, although the front door was locked when we arrived at 3:45pm. The service was very satisfactory and the breakfast very nice and plentiful. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. However, the building looks... More

A 2 night stay provided two of the best pub meals I've had-almost ever. The standout out dish was braised ox cheek- served with sweet potato mash and a delicious red cabbage coleslaw- never been offered that combo and it was excellent. The scampi of woof worked really well too. The couple running the inn over the last year have... More

Visited with a friend for Sunday lunch. There are a choice of dining rooms including a dog friendly pub area and more luxurious dining rooms. The dinners were amazing and the sservice brilliant. Only area for improvemen: I was told the beef was pink but would say it was blue

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are very much a country inn and its good to know that our Dog Friendly policy is appreciated. Sunday lunch is a special day for us and we would have been happy to take your plate back and make sure you received your beef just how you like it.... More

I've had a pint or two here over the years but never a meal. I'm now kicking myself for not doing so. I'm a bit of a veggie so went for the linguini with halloumi and to tell the truth i wasn't expecting much. Veggie food in pubs can often be lacking but this was the real deal. The portion... More

Thank you for your great review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your meal with us. We believe in great food across the board and as you said, sadly vegetarians are often overseen. We always strive to make our vegetarian menu interesting but always tasty! More

Warm (log fire). Good Yorkshire pub. They had dog biscuits - always a good sign for a pub. Man turned up with a shotgun... good country vibe. Only had beer and cider but folk were tucking into, and were very appreciative, of the food. Next time we'll try the sloe gin.

Our car was in for the M.O.T. test at the garage behind the Coachman Inn at lunchtime, so we thought that we would try this place. There was a super fire going in the bar area, which is not too big a room, with other people eating there, so we settled there with a pot of tea,and our order came quite... More

Thank you for your review, We are pleased that you enjoyed your lunch with us. As you correctly said, the Inn is extremely old and we are in a period of renovation and with a building of this age we have had to be sympathetic with guided by listed building regulations to what we can and cant do. My husband and I were looking forward to our 4 day break at the coachman inn 27th December 2014. Upon arrival was not very welcoming. We were shown to our Double Room right up the top of the building in the eaves. The room was cold damp and not very clean. Sink right next to the bed. Wardrobe which we... More

We've just arrived back from a weekend break at the Coachman's Inn. The hotel has a 1776 plaque outside, so it obviously has a lot of history to it. Downstairs was quaint and quirky, with an old fashioned bar, small 'snug' and large, spacious dining-room. Upstairs the bedrooms were large, extremely clean, well decorated, with modern bathrooms. There was a... More

Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and we have taken on board the comment regarding the heating, as you noted the inn dates back to the 1700's and there are some restrictions to what we are able to do, but that is now all in hand. We hope to welcome you back... More

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Coachman Inn, although probably best suited to adults only The new owners are turning the beautiful old coaching inn round from what must have been adequate into a really special place to stay. The inn is in a great location just off the A170 betwixt Pickering and Scarborough. The rooms are quiet even with the... More
