I booked a twin room with a sea view for a one night treat for my mum on Sunday 24th May and what a treat this was. From the first warm welcome on reception on checking in to the check out on Monday (Sad to leave) The staff were amazing and nothing was to much trouble, our room was stunning... More

We booked a double room here at the very last minute at 3pm on Sunday 24th May 2015 due to such a nightmare at The Grand (see The Grand review!). We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. We arrived at approx 4pm to a lovely, peaceful, welcoming, friendly hotel reception entrance. We checked in and was immediately upgraded to a... More

The Red Lea is my idea of a perfect getaway. Refurbished rooms, very traditional and quintessentially English and very good standard of food. The staff are friendly and efficient and the night porter is a bit of a character! I look forward to a longer stay later in the year and another sea view room.

I recently visited the red lea along with 10 of my nearest and dearest for my birthday and I was really so happy with our choice of hotel. We arrived at about 1pm to find some of my family had checked in and our rooms were ready straight away. Me and my boyfriend were in room 215 which is a... More

My wife and I spent a night here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We received very friendly reception and our sea view was warm, clean and very spacious with a very comfortable bed an plenty of storage space. The bathroom was well appointed with bath and shower. The hotel had a small but more than adequete swimin pool . We... More

Have eaten at the Red Lea many times in the past and the food is sometimes pretty good although not plentiful ie one slice of meat and very tough at that, fruit starter that was so under ripe it was inedible and all small portions, most friends at our table were disappointed with the £15 meal.

Went to the Red Lea as a member of a coach party so this was a real test as hotels are notorious of treating coach parties like sheep. This was NOT the case here as we were treated as individuals and as well as the other independent guests. We received a warm welcome and found that the organisation was excellent.... More

Stayed overnight prior to a conference at the nearby Spa complex. When I mentioned this to the receptionist during check in, she helpfully volunteered some local information about theCliff Lift down to the Spa site. 3rd floor front room via very small lift. Thankfully very quiet. Room well serviced. Filling breakfast with tables preallocated by room number for each guest.... More

The hotel itself is a tad tired, and the rooms dated. The shower pressure was pretty non existent and the water from it was warmish. On the flip side, the staff were excellent, especially at reception and the food was of good quality. Is it worth £100 per room a night In short the answer is no, but with a... More
