When we got there Jane on reception was so welcoming and friendly. We were put in a twin room rather than a double so asked to swap which Jane sorted straight away. The only issue was that the room was cold Jane offered a heater but we refused thinking that it would warm up when the heating kicked in but... More

I brought a group of 28 people to the Red Lea for the New Year celebration and speak on behalf of all but one!!. 27 of us had a thoroughly good time throughout our stay. The Hostess started by giving a champagne party and personally introducing herself to all of the guests. The Hotel it's self was above average and... More

Stayed here to celebrate the new year with a group of 25 friends. The food was nice, the service was very good, the rooms were clean. The entertainment on two nights was also good but on New Years eve we felt as though we were at someone else's party and we weren't invited!!! Most of the music was downbeat blues... More

We stayed 2 nights and chose this hotel because of the mostly favourable Trip Advisor reviews and the good value of the tariff being offered for a stay between Christmas and the New Year. We weren't disappointed and, if anything, more pleased than expected. Like many hotel properties in Scarborough, it was built in the late Victorian - early Edwardian... More

Spent 5days with friends who last spent Xmas at the hotel 2yrs ago & had spoken highly of it. Having lost my Husband last year it was the first time I had a single room,& it couldn't have been worse. Very small, holes in the wall where I presume a head board had once been, dirty cracked windows which I... More

We stayed at this hotel in September 2014. The hotel is located on the South Cliff of Scarborough, not far from the cliff lift which takes you down to the Scarborough Spa Centre. The rooms were clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was good. The staff were polite and very helpful. I would recommend the Red Lea Hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews. This most of them must have been staying in another hotel. Our room was really big with a lovely newly fitted bathroom. Bed was so comfortable. We did not have any cold water in the tap for the shower but when we reported it to reception,... More

Booked in for a Saturday night and was told on arrival that there was no evening meal available because the hotel was empty! Luckily we had already decided to eat out. Room was supposedly a 'premier' but was old fashioned, sash windows rattled throughout the night (single glazed) and sofa in room was worn and threadbare. No glasses in room... More

This is my fourth stay at the Red Lea with our dance group-about 50 of us..The management ans staff give top class service from the moment of arrival until departure. It's almost like family. The rooms are very good, comfortable and clean and the public areas well attended. The pool is a nice facility (it was a bit cold this time) but the... More
