A friend and I have just returned from the Raincliffe on our first visit to Scarborough. As a seasoned uk 'shortbreak' traveller, I feel well qualified in saying it is an excellent hotel. The couple who ran it, were lovely people, welcoming and friendly. The hotel stands in a leafy picturesque avenue in a nice area of town. I could... more

We were very disappointed that this hotel was so far away from the main attractions, especially after being told by the owner that it was close to the shopping centre and sea front. It took us a good 45 minutes to walk the shops and used taxis afterwards. The hotel was very dated and the owner was quite rude . The rooms... more

Unfortunately the weather was dreadful but the hotel saved the day. The breakfast is certainly a challenge and my wife fell by the wayside on the last 2 days by eliminating some items, but we required nothin g else to eat until evening dinner which was very well cooked and again plentiful. It was always a pleasure to return to... more

From my first contact with Katherine at the Raincliffe I felt that I had made a good choice for a holiday with my 11 year old son. This soon proved to be true with the excellent service we received, the size and cleanliness of the rooms and the tasty, if massive, meals. The location is quiet and not too far... more

Myself and mum have spend 3 nights at the Raincliffe. On arrival we were informed we had been upgraded to a family room to allow us more space which was a bonus. The room was very clean and attention to detail was very obvious. Some of the rooms were on the top (G,1,2, no lift) floor which was not a... more
