Nipped into this lovely Bar on our way up to our Favourite Restaurant Cogoni's. Really wished we could of stayed all night as there was a band on later!! We usually come across for birthdays so we've found out Holiday Local!! Only wished we liked Whiskey as they have hundreds!! Great place!!

Lovely warm and cosy Irish bar with open fire very traditional, live band on the Saturday night we visited which was good. Lovely way to spend a night with friends, price of drinks not too bad either, not far from sea front

We have been several times when in Scarborough and always get a warm welcome. The place is very cosy and on the Wednesday night we were there, Alastair James was playing and he was very good and did a wide range of songs. Several people nearby him were annoyed, as there was a table full of people who weren't interested... More

As you enter there's warmth and a lovely strong smell of a wood burning fire. The staff are very pleasant and the whole bar has a nice feel. Behind the bar is a plethora of whiskeys, if that's your tipple, but you've got to drink Guinness in a place like this. Well worth a visit on a bracing, blowy afternoon/evening... More

A bright light in a depressing town! Friendly landlady and staff, great beer and wide range of whisk(e)y. Visited a few other pubs in Scarborough and this was the best by far, in fact one of the few that was clean! Other landlords take note. Would recommend

Called in due to the live entertainment. Good Irish pub. Prices were not bad and good Guinness as well as a varied selection of beers Every Wednesday there is live music this night was an acoustic set very varied with a good voice. Would certainly called in again next time I am in Scarborough

We happened on this pub the last time we were in Scarborough and looked forward to visiting it again last week. It's Irish-themed, but as far away as you can get from that O'Neill's chain feel (I am Irish). Impressive drinks menu - the list of whiskies was the most comprehensive I've seen: Icelandic, Danish and Japanese varieties included alongside... More

Thank you for your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated. I would like also to mention that In September 2014 we took over this pub and following an enormous renovation project of both the bar and what was the hotel, we reopened at the end of October 2014. The old hotel after being ripped out completely and new kitchen,... More

Staying in Scarborough with friends Strolling through the town on a Sunday night for drinks, came across this bar and stayed until closing. Had a really good night, live entertainment with 3 different singers all of which were excellent. Would definitely return when back in Scarborough

Been coming to Scarborough for a few years now sometimes twice a year if we can. This pub is always on the list of things to do. A lovely irish themed pub with a couple of real ales and a huge selection of whisky. Often has live music or has every time I've been in. Friendly staff and locals in... More
