I arranged a group of 12 adults to stay at The Windmill to celebrate friends' forthcoming marriage as they did not fancy the usual hen/stag nights. The location comes as quite a surprise - virtually hidden in the streets of Scarborough and close to local amenities/beach. Once inside the complex it feels very personal and private. The accommodation is sympathetically... More

We stayed one night in the balcony suite( at the top of the windmill tower). All I can say is wow!! It has been sympathetically converted to B&B accommodation, still retaining original features. The circular pattern of the millstone can still be seen in the main beam. Lovely circular rooms and spiral staircases. Tastefully decorated and quality furnishings too. I... More

We stayed one night in windmill itself (lower of the 2 'flats'). The bedroom has a nice ensuite and the living room has good kitchen facilities. Rooms were warm and clean and - of course - circular. Breakfast cooked by Jenny was very good. Neighbourhood has traditional and bijou shops. Would love to stay there again.

The Windmill at Scarborough surely must rank as the most unique Boutique hotel or self catering cottage break in England. I recommend you stay in the en-suite premier king-size four poster room, although they have excellent self catering cottage breaks available also. The four poster bed is king-size and the room also has its own two seater sofa as well as... Thank you for your lovely review; it is always gratifying to meet guests who enjoy and make the most of Scarborough during their stay. Having visited the area on numerous occasions, you obviously know your way around, and of course there's always something new going on, and being so close to the Stephen Joseph Theatre is a bonus. Thank you... More

We spent 4 nights in cornflower cottage, located at the side of the windmill. We were situated central to the town, and close to all amenities. The cottage was clean and comfortable with plenty of available self catering facilities. We were greeted by Roland who was very helpful.Overall we enjoyed a good relaxing break.

Thank you for your review, and we're delighted you had a pleasant time over New Year and pleased to hear you enjoyed the Cottage. We know you have family living nearby so being based at The Windmill was obviously beneficial. We offer short breaks throughout the year, so if you do venture up this way again, we hope we have... My partner brought me here for 2 nights for mu birthday as i love windmills and we were not disappointed. Beautifully restored, lovely accommodation in the windmill itself with great views, great breakfast, great service. The people who have left reviews rated terrible, poor, average etc must have mistaken this place for somewhere else.

Stayed here 1-3 November. Upon arrival we were met by a female member of staff who took us into the reception to check in. The reception and breakfast area are full of retro toys in wall mounted displays which is unusual but quirky. The room itself was a reasonable size with a 4 poster bed, tv with free view. The... My friend and I stayed here recently and, from the moment we arrived, we felt that the prime motivation of the owner was to secure our payment and that he was not really interested in us as human beings. The meter charges for the gas and the electric are ridiculously high, on top of paying for our cottage, and we... More
