We came up for our daughter's graduation & Jo went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, even offering to do breakfast earlier for us. Great service at breakfast. Lovely clean rooms. We read the only one negative review on here complaing about the dogs. We do not have dogs and both times we have... More

I stayed here for 4 nights in late May and couldn't have asked for a better experience. I arrived to a warm welcome from Joanne and Val and was given the choice of either of the rooms on the top floor facing the bay. The view is amazing and during my stay I never tired of it. The room was... More

Me and my partner stayed here for 6 nights in June for our holiday. Had a lovely trip, we stayed for 2 nights in one of the smaller rooms, and then 4 nights in the balcony room which has views overlooking Scarborough South Beach. It is a combination of modern and charming and excels in everything you would want and... More

This is a terrific guest house, we visit every year and have no complaints at all. The service you receive is five star, the rooms are comfortable and the sea views absolutely amazing. This place is a must stay at if you are in Scarborough and an ideal central base for visiting all of the major areas in the town.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Duke of York and we would definitely stay a third time. We stayed 2 weeks ago, straight from getting married for a mini honeymoon break. Joanne had put a bottle of champagne, box of chocolates, flowers and a wedding card in our room which was a very lovely and kind... More

It's hard to post a review when you know you'll be attracting loads more guests and you might not get accommodation when you want it next time .....but this guest house was a real find for me in my quest for a seaview. Joanne is flying the family flag as your hostess with the 'mostess' and she pays such attention... More

It was the first time staying at the Duke of York. We'd definitely stay again. Couldn't fault anything about it. They certainly make you feel welcome. Just in the right location for everything. Can't wait to go back

We have been visiting Yorkshire and Scarborough in particular for many years, staying in a variety of accommodation, and have only recently discovered this lovely guest house, run with love and pride by Jo and her team. It is immaculately clean, well appointed and well located with its own small car park. The food is excellent, the rooms lovely and... More
