We arrived here after cycling along the cinder track from Scarborough and it seemed that we were not the only ones, it being busy throughout the early evening. The staff were helpful when approached (we asked for directions to the falls and beach which are a 15 minute walk) although I overheard other customers mentioning that the service seemed to... More

Stooped by this nice warm, welcoming, dog friendly pub for a drink which was reasonably priced and served by friendly staff who happily gave the dogs some water. Great atmosphere even though it was quite quiet but you easily can calm and relax whilst enjoying a drink and a bite to eat. Great location as it is on the scarborough... More

Considering that this pub is a welcome pit stop for walkers and cyclists it could do far better. It's dark and dismal interior isn't helped by the unfriendly staff and the general run down feel of the place. Me and hubby had full intentions of booking to eat for tea that night when we stopped here mid walk and despite... More

The beer is good and the food is fine however the pub lacks something. I think that the staff, while efficient and clearly busy just do not make you feel welcome - they do not make you feel unwelcome - just not welcome and valued. A good starting (and ending) point for a walk to the beach.

The Hayburn Wyke is a very friendly, relaxing place to stay the staff treat you like friends and the rooms are very comfortable with everything you need. It is located perfectly for quiet walks along the old railway lines. The food is done to a high standard and the portions are just right. In short I would recommend it to... More

The welcome we got was fine but first impressions were right. The front door had hardly any paint on it, the carpet to the rooms was dirty and smelled stale. Room 4 was small and the bedding wasn't nice. No idea how many times the bedspread had been used! En-suite was adequate but the shower cubicle wasn't nice. All the... More

Great pub, fantastic food. Stayed for 3 nights over Easter. Arrived late because of train delays but Sharon the owner was still up and incredibly welcoming. Rooms are fine. Be warned that they sometimes have live music on till late so ask if you're not a fan. (The band were excellent in our opinion!). Can't recommend this place enough. The... More
