This is a very badly mis-managed and disorganised Victorian hotel. We were given a tiny room with a shower on the top floor when we had booked a re-furnished, upgraded room with spa bath and sea-views on a low floor. A fter complaining and being moved to a refurbished room we found one light in the bathroom ceiling not working... more

I have travelled all over the world and this is the WORST I have ever stayed in! What a filthy dump, it made me ashamed to be English. They say they have spent a fortune on renovation - I suggest they sue the contractors and spend some money on training better quality staff. We paid full price and then found... more

I have just had a long weekend at the Grand Hotel,Scarborough and was very pleased with it. I had read the reviews a day before departure and was REALLY worried,if we had been going by car,I am sure we would have stayed at home. But as we were going with a coach company decided to risk it...on the way other... more

If you do wish to risk a stay in this hotel be warned you might get a room with NO WINDOW in a basement!! Scaresville!! But if you have booked premier then you have a chance of a seaview and get to dine in a less chaotic atmosphere. The staff on reception have a near impossible job and I am... more

On arrival we were dismissed from the reception with the words i'm sick of telling the travelstyle lot not to send them to the desk, we were all then told to go over to the ballroom (not asked) and they would come over with our room... more

Took my disabled mum (but able to walk short distances) for a weekend away for a bit of a relxing break........well here goes What a shocker! Upon arrival, shocking decor, smelt of damp and paint fumes mixed together, were given wrong directions to the lift by very not-so-friendly checking in staff, ended up doing the rat race with a cleaner... more

I read the reviews after I booked - big mistake - so was a little apprehensive! Well - my room was excellent, overlooked the sea, very clean and spacious. I do think it depends which part of the hotel you are in because it is being refurbished - and they DO TELL YOU THAT BEFORE YOU BOOK!!! Obviously, that is... more
