We paid £130 for a twin room with breakfast and evening meal for 2 people so didn't expect much, but it was well worth it. Room was clean as was bedding, water was always scolding hot and there was tea making facilities. The food wasn't anything special but not discussing either, although I wish they would have fried eggs, also... More

Once in this hotel is more is more than enough !! DISGRACEFUL !! Never again ! would not recommend to anyone . The only slight positive is that the food was only just ok , the room was awful with no windows , no wardrobe just a small rail to hang your clothes on , no phone in room (... More

My husband and I stayed in the Grand Hotel, Scarborough as part of a Groupon Deal. We thought this was a good way to check out the hotel for a big family reunion next year. Our room dated back to 1950. The furniture was delapidated. The bed creaked at every move. There was only one bedside table. The view from... More

Just back from a 2 night stay with my daughter. We had booked with caledonian travel for a 3 day trip to scarborough and flamingo land. The hotel looks fantastic and is in a great location, next to the beach, shops and amusements. The harbour lights restaurant has lovely views and the food was ok, but not great. The room... More

Unfortunately the days of Victorian and Edwardian grandeur have long gone but in those days the hotel would only be accessible to the rich. Now all can enjoy the Grand at an affordable price. Four nights dinner, bed and breakfast for the price of one night and room only in other cities is pretty good. We upgraded our room on... More

Have stayed here a few times, but most not willingly. Location good, and its big. All depends on what you want. Rooms are not too.... bad, a bit tired, but they have improved over years, good shower. They are very variable, from tiny to huge, its a big old hotel, so someway of a lottery. Lift often very full if... More

Dear ProfManchester Thank you for your review. The Grand is a unique hotels with bags of character unlike some of the modern boxes you will find in other hotels. Our rooms are different in shape, size and layout due to nature and not forgetting the age of the building. We are delighted that you have noticed to improvements we are... More

At my house rooms with no windows are used for storage. At the Grand rooms with no windows are also used for storage, only this time it's people that are stored. Perhaps the Window Tax still applies in Scarborough. If you like rooms in the depths of the earth then this is the place for you. For the non-Morlocks out... More

Dear Andrew G Thank you for posting your review. We always like to hear from our customers about their stay with us. We don't have our own car parking, as with most of the hotels within the town centre - we do however sell discounted parking cards for just £3 per day, which is a massive saving on the standard... We stayed at this hotel last weekend , we had bought a groupon deal without looking at reviews and after reading some of them , i was dreading it. We were so pleasantly surprised by this lovely old grand hotel. The room that we were shown to first was adequate and clean but i felt that as we had taken... More
