After a lovely day in Scarborough we was excited to check in. Nowhere to park so had to park far away. Staff at reception seemed as though they hated their jobs. Was given a room on -1 and after passing through dirty laundry and rubbish and staff moaning about their jobs we reached our room. For the price we paid... More

Myself and my partner stayed here for 3 nights, and it was lovely! After reading the reviews on trip advisor before we left, we were very sceptical! Maybe we paid a bit more than other places but for the money we had a lovely big window with sea view, a jacuzzi bath... That worked! Yes parts of the hotel are... More

I've just read the last two reviews and terribly upset that these poor people were booked into this hotel. This was my second visit to Scarborough and architecturally The Grand looked magnificent and trekking over from Whitby where we were staying, I simply had to see this building first hand. Before venturing in we took the obligatory photos outside but... More

Check in took longer than I have ever experienced at any hotel before and there was no shower in my room . The staff were friendly enough and the breakfast was decent so it wasn't totally bad but the hotel is very old and generally attracted older people

Stayed at this hotel for one night on the 30th August on the Travelstyle Harrogate and Scarborough trip. Unfortunately we didn't find out the hotel until we arrived for the trip or else we definitely wouldn't have gone. The other reviews for this tour stayed in Hull at the Mercure. The hotel itself must have been very Grand in it's... More

Exterior was superb apart from the cigarette buttts piled outside the entrance. It took us a hour to check in with no apology for our wait, that's when alarm bell's started to ring. There were five in our part including our elderly parents. We were allocated three rooms three floors below ground. rooms stunk of damp, carpets frayed and stained,no windows and... More

Stayed for one night, which was enough. Check in was fine, although when arriving at our room we realised we had no window. We paid extra when booking, because we didn't want an internal room. (the room was clean and pretty new but very claustrophobic) Went back to check in desk, to be told they didn't have any rooms with... More
