Stayed one night with 13 other girls and the rooms were spotless and spacious, the owner Neil, his wife Sylvia and his staff are all lovely, they are working very hard to make the place a nice stay for everyone and I believe the next step for improvements is the bar and toilets. For £20 per night we were well... More

Myself and some friends visited the Lord Nelson on a busy weekend. The bar had a reasonable, well priced selection and the staff were lovely. Karaoke was on at this point and although we didn't get up personally, we enjoyed the hosting and the songs. The decor is homely and pleasant but the toilets are a bit tired, (we saw... More

Been down to the sea front in Scarborough and popped into The Lord Nelson. When we last went in there was different coloured walls and a cheap feel. But it looks like new owners are in now and it has been decorated to give a more friendly feel. I has everything you could ask for from a sea front pub.... More

Being on the seafront you would think it would be much better. Random coloured walls( lime green, yellow, blue and white) , crackly music, filthy toilets and grubby everything. With a lick of neutral light paint and a bloody good clean it would change the place completely.

We did not stay in the pub, we went in for the karaoke, which was good even though it was out of season. We had a good time, and the staff were all very friendly, an made you feel welcome. I understand it has new owners, an it does need a bit of work doing on it, but maybe give... More

Ok the pubs a little dated, but if you want a few drinks in friendly surroundings like we did yesterday, and maybe sing a few songs on karaoke then its ok. We went in Sunday afternoon of May bank holiday and enjoyed it so much, will defo be back.

We booked into the Nelson when we arrived in Scarborough at lunchtime to make sure we had a bed for the night. Our money was taken before we saw the room, the man then took us up to our room, dirty carpet on the stairs on the way up (why? when halfway up the stairs was a carpet cleaner!!) then... More
