We booked St. Nicholas Lodge for an overnight stay on New Year's Eve and for the price wasn't expecting much. The location is excellent, especially with a seaview room such as ours and central for both the centre and Scarborough's promenade. What made the stay was Dorothy, the owner who was such a genuine person who went out of her... More

The lodge was very nice place to stay. the rooms were very clean and spotless. the staff were particularly helpful and the view over the scarborough bay was amazing. parking was a bit of the problem but found out on the second day that i should have bought a permit on arrival in the morning which will reduce my parking... Having been visit scarborough for years the was the worst accommadation we have stayed in. Room was old, dated and poorly decorated. Plain white walls with the cheapest simple metal bed frame. This creaked every time we moved an inch and one side looked like it was going to pop out. Location was good but that's it. Confused about these... More

Fantastic old house. We had a room at the front with a huge bay window, which gave us great sea views. The owner Dorothy was very friendly and did her best to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was good and the room spotlessly clean.

Located just a stones throw from the beech and shopping area this was the perfect hotel for us. The owner was very friendly and approachable. There is no private parking for the hotel but if you ask the owner she will point out an underground carpark nearby that cost £6.50 for 24 hours, although there are many steps back up... More

Just got back from a lovely bank holiday weekend at the Lodge. What a lovely place, and Dorothy the owner couldnt have been nicer. The room was clean and comfy so pleased, we had a sea view room too. The lodge is perfectly placed for the beach and for the town as it is only minutes away. So thankyou Dorothy... More

Great central location, room was clean and mega comfy bed! Proprietor was very friendly & helpful, didn't mention the £20 key deposit before we arrived though. On the downside shower was very poor and no hot water all weekend

Where to start - in a positive way? Very warm welcome from Dorothy the owner, we booked the cheapest rooms and whilst not generous on size, they were clean and comfortable. The buffet style hot breakfast was fabulous and our dogs were even allowed to sit with us, which as any dog owner will know is a huge bonus. Dorothy... More
