Where to start - in a positive way? Very warm welcome from Dorothy the owner, we booked the cheapest rooms and whilst not generous on size, they were clean and comfortable. The buffet style hot breakfast was fabulous and our dogs were even allowed to sit with us, which as any dog owner will know is a huge bonus. Dorothy... More

Oh dear. I phoned the lodge before booking to confirm that they were indeed dog friendly. The lady that answered said yes but there is a £2 charge per night and told me that I probably wouldn't pay as no one ever does. I asked if she preferred booking on-line or over the phone. She said on-line as "that way... More

I came here with my partner after we walked around trying to find a place with vacancies for 2 nights. We stumbled upon St Nicholas Lodge. Looked fine from the outside. We didn't want a place that was going to break the bank as some places at the coast really know how to charge!! It was quite cheap and on... More

firstly I must say i think there maybe some confusion between the st. Nicholas lodge and saint Nicholas hotel because some of these reviews don't seem to match the guest house. we have stayed before in room no. 3 and it was very pleasant and clean with a nice shower and a bay window with a view of the sea... I have to thank the St Nicholas Lodge for a lovely restful stay, in a warm clean room. The breakfast was delicious! The lady running the B&B was polite and helpful, knowing the best places to go and enjoy wonderful Scarborough. The best places to eat and drink at. The room was large and very clean with good heating and... More

My father and I had recently booked a two night stretch at this B&B. Upon arrival to this property, my first impression is that it was tired and needed some extensive renovation and tidying. The age of the building and clashing decor caused a sense of overall uncleanliness, but this could be forgiven. While the overall quality of the property... More
