Oh my..... Previously to this hotel being a travel lodge it was a beautiful hotel. Please do not stay in this hotel. Where do I begin, the hotel staff were unwelcoming, the walk to the room was claustrophobic and damp, the room....oh my...the room was atrocious, thankfully we only stayed for one night. The view was disgusting dirty windows and cold,... More

On arrival the hotel was surrounded completely by scaffolding. Checking in at reception was a process I wouldn't care to repeat. The receptionist was rude and automatically expected our party to know where our rooms were located. She never gave us any other information about parking/surrounding areas/breakfast options/check out. Not very warm or welcoming. The room itself wasn't big enough... More

After reading some reviews I was unsure what to expect - yes expected the hotel covered in scaffolding and yes expected not to get parked - both of which was very true! Scaffolding - these things happen - cant be helped! Parking on the other hand was a bit was a pain but we actually parked in the Palm Court... More

A once tired old privately owned hotel the Scar borough Travelodge is a well sited base for your stay.It could do with some decoration in the corridors and rooms but is better than most. The main problem is parking, the car park outside is short stay and for our entire three day stay no concessionary vouchers were available from reception,a real pain.

Just stayed at this Travelodge for the third year running. We always find it clean, and well looked after It is conveniently central, and amazing value. It is being refurbished at the moment so there is scaffolding up outside, but our time there was not spoilt in any way during our visit. We would most certainly not hesitate to stay... More

Highly recommended, staff lovely, room large and spacious with comfy bed. Just be mindful that the parking outside is very limited. You can drop luggage and passengers off outside in the loading bay and then park for ease.

my grand daughter and I stayed for 2 nights in April 2015. The hotel has a great location, we were lucky to have a room at the front with a sea view. I was aware that there would be scaffolding outside but this was not a problem. Its a hill up from the sea but so is every other hotel... More

We usually like Travelodges, although we are not so keen on the new minimalist rooms. It would be good to have a wardrobe and a couple of draws. However this one fell short as it seemed to struggling to cope with the number of guests. We only had hot water 2 mornings out 5 at the time we wanted to... More
