Location is good and although it looks shabby from the outside it's not a bad place. Sure, the lift at one end was broken for the 2 days we were there, and I felt like leaving a trail of breadcumbs to negotiate the rabbit warren corridors and stairs to my room, but nonetheless it was a steal for the price... Stayed here for 2 nights. Situated in Victorian building overlooking sea and opposite The Grand Hotel. Spacious clean room with high ceiling. Great position for exploring Scarborough. Quiet apart from seagulls.

The hotel is in an ideal location. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to help us (13 in our group). The rooms were clean and quiet. The breakfasts were great and set us up for the day! The hotel could do with some general maintenance and a lick of paint but this was only cosmetic, and... More

My wife and I booked into the Scarborough Travelodge for the night of the 21st and 22nd of May 2012 and stayed in it all of twenty mins before leaving, the room we were allocated (No 135) was dark and dingy with damp patches on the wall the floor was uneven the walls had six foot cracks in them as... We stayed here for 4 nights in March and its put me off travelodge full stop. It was cheap (around £35) per night but to be honest it wasnt even worth that. The location is good and its easy to find. The staff were also really helpful too so there was a good side. We moved room after night one... More

Stayed there for 3 nights. Arrived 6:30 pm Parking nightmare have to park in multi-storey cost £10 for 24hrs. Given the swipe card for room 406 (Sea View). Bed had been slept in and was unmade. Dirty cups and teaspoons. Previous occupants rubbish in the litter bin and an overpowering smell of drains. Great start given the fact that the... More

If you want a basic hotel which is in a perfect location then this is it. I paid around £20 per night for a double room which is difficult to beat. The downside is that there is a distinct lack of investment in the place - one lift was still not working and some of the decor is a little... More

Location of the hotel is very good for the south beach and town center. Car parking could be a problem but the hotel staff suggested a car park pass from the tourist info center, this was very good and could be used in the underground car park very nr to the hotel, also it can be used at selected car...
