2nd time this year - cant wait for Christmas & New Year. Went with my wife, sister and her friend and yet again a brilliant time. Wonderful food, rooms a little dated but clean and welldecorated and a tremedous power shower over the bath. We stayed in a balcony room with out 2 Cair Terriers - they loved looking out... more

We booked a 4 day stay at the R and F in Sidmouth and stopped in the Faulkner Suite. It was very comfortable and Clean. What really makes this Hotel stand out is the Staff. Nothing was too much trouble and the Serving Staff in the Restaurant were superb, very quick and efficient. Will definatley return!!! more

As we were celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary we chose the York Suite for our weeks stay and it had everything we could wish for. A wonderful sea view (and as the weather was superb for our stay we were able to take full advantage of our balcony), a very tastefully decorated lounge area with the added benefit of a... more

Staying at this hotel is like stepping back in time. It is a family owned and run hotel, right on the seafront of this lovely little Devonshire town. The buildings are old, and the decor traditional. The service and the food are both exceptionally good. We stay in one of the Premier rooms every year for 8 or 9 nights,... more

The staff were incredibly friendly - we stayed on e night during the folk festival but could get in early, use the facilities after check out and nothing was too much trouble. Service was under-stated in that you could get anything if you asked but there wasn't any obsequiousness or condescension. The aim was service, in a really friendly environment.... more

This hotel is not a cold impersonal hotel, it is warm and friendly. Bedrooms are tastefully decorated, and our's was quite spacious, with everything you need for a relaxing break. The food was five star quality, with excelent, friendly service. The room maintenance was very good, and was very efficient. Overall, a top rate hotel deserving more than a two... more

When I go to stay at a hotel I want Comfort,Cleanliness, and Service. In this hotel I got all three. I didn't worry about it being 'dated' at all.The food was superb and the staff were very helpfull. I had my own mobility scooter and was allowed to keep it in the hall for my use as needed. Sure, there were... more

You take pot luck with your room some are large some are cramped. most bedrooms seem to have hand basins in bedroom rather than bath/shower room. The meals were acceptable but not as good as the rather pretenious menu would suggest. The staff were friendly and efficient. The sash windows in the dining room were uncomfortably drafty for thus unfortunate... more

We have just had yet another trip to this very good hotel. The rates are very reasonable, everything is very clean, and all the staff are friendly and helpful. It is a quiet hotel and seems to cater mainly for older people (I am in my mid-forties and on many of our visits have been apparently the youngest guest by... more
