Stayed for one night in one of the cottage rooms behind the pub. Room quite nicely furnished although bathroom fittings on the cheap side. Food at pub good and better than could normally be expected given the lack of competition in the vicinity. Pleasant bar staff. More of a proper old pub rather than a gastropub/restaurant which no bad thing.... more

We stayed at The Masons Arms 15 years ago. We renewed our finest remembrance with a new stay in march april 2009 . What a joy this was. The village of course was as beautiful and pictoresque as ever. And to walk there on the many foothpaths e.g. coastal path to Beer and for the more younger and experienced walkers... more

We had a three day midweek break at this hotel. The room itself was adequate, clean and tidy. The t.v. had only one channel working properly, channel 5. You could hear the tv and people from the room below quite clearly, also everytime the bathroom in the room next to us was used . We soon got the idea to... more

We have just had the most wonderful break at The Masons Arms. Once you reach the heart of this pretty little village you come across the enchanting pub. The cottages are set in pretty gardens . Our room was beautiful with a four poster and spotlessly clean. We ate in the pub in the evenings and the food was excellent... more

The Masons Arms is in Branscombe, as others have said, which is a gorgeous village set in stunning scenery very close to the SouthWest Coast Path. It is accessed down some steep and very narrow lanes, and the whole ambience, at least in late winter/early spring, is relaxing and peaceful. The area is fantastic for walking, and there are even... more

My boyfriend and I wanted to getaway for some peace and quiet inbetween the Christmas and New Year madness. We stayed at The Masons Arms for 2 nights and found it to be enchanting! The bedroom was fantastic (Cottage 12), it had a fabulous 4 poster bed in a room fit for royalty. The room (with a nice tv sitting... more

My husband and I stayed at the Masons Arms recently just for a few days to 'get away from it all!' From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and relaxed. We stayed in a beautiful room, four poster bed, fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. The food in both the bar and the restaurant was superb!! I had read... more

My wife and I went to the Masons Arms for a meal one evening as we fancied a change from our local. We had heard a lot of good reports from friends so thought we would give it a go. Now Branscombe is a little village on the Devon coast so a little off the beaten track but well worth... more

We didn't stay at the pub, but we ate there in the bar. The food was poor quality and the service was worse. A supposedly medium rare steak was seriously overcooked, tough and gristly for the sum of nearly £16. Crab and sea trout risotto was a bowl of mush. The inclusion of sun dried tomatoes was misjudged. Mussels were... more
