What a wonderful stay at the Riviera. It is a great experience, with such friendly and welcoming staff. Particular mention should go to Thomas for a lovely, friendly welcome, and to Michael for looking after us so well in the evening. You truly get excellent, friendly, old fashioned and courteous service from the first minute of your stay when your... more

I have stayed at the Hotel Riviera many times and have always found it to be excellent in every area, the staff, management, food, rooms are all first class and as the hotel is family owned, there is strong evidence of the personal touch - nothing is too much trouble. The position of the hotel is perfect - just across... more

I must agree with the other reviews that this hotel is very expensive, although a perfectly pleasant place to stay the price is extortionate. We had a twin seaview room that was ok but a bit on the small side with an old fashioned black tv, but the bathroom was very nice and looked like it had recently been refurbished.... more

We booked a 2 night (Friday & Saturday) break during a cold and windy January. Our room was a sea-view room with a super bay window overlooking the gentle curve of the beach. It was well equipped, clean, and spacious with an en-suite bathroom My wife and I are both in our late forties, and we were almost the youngest... more

What an extortionate price for only a very average hotel. It is more like an old people's home - the so called suites are not suites at all - food is nice but nothing special - maybe I am thirty years too young for this place..(and I am late 40's!!) more

Please ignore the previous review if you have never visited this property. These clients obviously have no taste and are not used to staying in a lovley hotel. We have been many times and taken our friends and have never been disappointed. I do agree with the comment re the suite however as my understanding of a suite was that... more

This hotel is a complete con! In it's brochure and on it's website, it tries to present an image of a grand regency style hotel that you might find in Brighton or Eastbourne. The reality is a small squashed in regency style upmarket guest house! This could still be acceptable if it weren't for the prices which are even above... more

Everytime we visit the hotel we wonder why we only visit once a year, because it is such a pleasure to stayat the Riviera. The food is faultless, and the service exceptional. Your car is parked for you, your bed turned down and room cleaned in the evening as well as the morning. The bar man remembers what you have to drink -... more

Excellent staff, went out of their way to help, and were all warm and friendly. on leaving it felt like saying goodbye to friends. The room was very pretty with a stunning view, and a good size bathroom, both room and bathroom very clean as was all the hotel. Food excellent and staff in dining room likewise. A fantastic stay... more

From the minute we arrived at the Hotel Riveria and walked through to the windowed cupboard that serves as their reception I knew that booking this hotel had been a mistake - and an expensive one at that! This is a hotel whose primary clientele are above the age of 75 - and the ambiance of the hotel is obviously... more
