We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Sadly we only ate in the restaurant on the last night of our stay - it was excellent with a good wine list. We only wanted 2 courses and not the set 3 courses but that was not a problem. Bedroom was nice and spacious with tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast... More

We booked a "Standard" double room for 2 nights & unfortunately appeared to have been allocated the smallest room & bathroom, compared to two other Standard rooms which we were able to view, after our first night. We have never seen such a small shower cubical. So avoid room 22 - 23 & 27 are much better for the same... More

Thank you for making a review. Your feedback did indeed come to us via reception, and was discussed how to make an improvement, but i am sorry that you felt your view point was not taken seriously. I am also sorry that you did not have the opportunity to change rooms. More

Lovely bedroom and views of the sea from upstairs lounge. Antique style with character. Took our cocker spaniel too who was welcomed. wonderful breakfast and very good service. Five minute walk to promenade and shops including beaches and Jacobs Ladder.

We stayed at Royal Glen for 4 nights with our 2 daughters & 2 grandchildren. The hotel is a very friendly family run hotel. The staff were extremely helpful nothing appeared to be too much trouble. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Plenty of tea and coffee everyday. Lovely towels and bed linen & bed was really comfortable. The breakfast... More

We just stayed here for 3 nights, staying here for a family wedding in Sidmouth. We were a large family party and all of us couldn't praise the hotel and staff enough. We only had breakfast but that was very good. Close to the beach, shops and restaurants with car parking. All of the staff are a credit it to... More

Room 4 for one night. It was a bit of a problem. The room is on a spot where the fire door in the outside corridor opens and closes. The corridor also creaks and soundproofing is not much good. So you hear everyone chatting away as the creak up to the fire food and open and close it. A lot... More

We and our two friends took advantage of a Spring break offer and spent four nights dinner , bed and breakfast here. This was our first visit to the Royal Glen and we all had a really nice time there. The layout of the hotel reflects the various additions made to the building over time but it is none the... More

The Royal Glen Hotel is perfectly situated in Sidmouth, close to the beach, gardens and town centre but far enough to afford the peace and quiet of a good night’s sleep and relaxing stay. It is a lovely looking building with age and a good history and ample parking for its guests although we had a slight problem finding it... More

Thank you for taking the time to make a detailed review, I am sure future visitors will find it helpful. The Sat Nav location is a problem as our postcode takes all to Glen Close as it is the centre of the post code on Glen Road, even Google has it incorrect on some searches how ever many times I... We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of May in a superior single room and a standard double room. We found both rooms to be very clean and comfortable. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent it was well cooked and well presented. We did enjoy the variety of freshly... More

We stayed for a long weekend, 3 days & wished we could have stayed longer. It is so very comfortable & spotlessly clean. It's only rated 3* - I have stayed in hotels rated more that were not as good. It's not a chain & is family owned & I think that shows. Built in the early 1800 s it... More
