We stayed for three nights on the way back from The Lizard this month and although we have stayed before at the Royal Glen Hotel over the years it never disappoints and cannot rate it highly enough. Always enjoy staying there. Even with two dogs we were given the lovely Anne room. Thank you Hilary,Vivienne and staff for as always... More

The Royal Glen Hotel is perfectly situated in Sidmouth, close to the beach, gardens and town centre but far enough to afford the peace and quiet of a good night’s sleep and relaxing stay. It is a lovely looking building with age and a good history and ample parking for its guests although we had a slight problem finding it... More

We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of May in a superior single room and a standard double room. We found both rooms to be very clean and comfortable. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent it was well cooked and well presented. We did enjoy the variety of freshly... More

We stayed for a long weekend, 3 days & wished we could have stayed longer. It is so very comfortable & spotlessly clean. It's only rated 3* - I have stayed in hotels rated more that were not as good. It's not a chain & is family owned & I think that shows. Built in the early 1800 s it... More

Very well located just off the promenade. Friendly service and interesting building with lots of royal memerobilia. A quirky fawlty towers though quite expensive £300 for 2 nights for a family of 4. A good break

It took a long time to check in because of the Receptionist being on the telephone. The room was clean but not easily accessible because of stairs both up and down. The indoor swimming pool was great and warm - we had it to ourselves. The food was well prepared but of a plain variety. Clients seemed to return regularly. A... More

Thank you for making a review. We apologise for your wait at check in with Reception processing a reservation, thank you for your patience. It is good to bring more notice to the online fraternity about our up and down corridor; when booking direct with us at reception over the telephone we are very careful to allocate the most suitable... Stayed here because we had enjoyed lunch with friends about three years ago. Very disappointing - breakfast poor, very cold public rooms, small bedrooms, decoration of public rooms poor (not changed in three years), food in restaurant awful. Decided to rent a Regency town house at half the price in November that was 10 times better. Sorry Hilary - not... More

Wishing a Healthy & Happy New Year to all our Guests many of whom become Glen family, I was disappointed too ; we take all our reviews very seriously, and really try to act on constructive criticism, to receive a review on Dec 29th for a stay in June; I question the helpfulness in this to staff & family or... I stayed at the Royal Glen for 4 nights with my 10 year old daughter and 7 month old baby. There was plenty of parking. On check in there wasn't anyone to help with my bags. As you can imagine I had quite a bit with a baby but it wasn't to much of a problem and I managed, luckily... More

Stayed at this Hotel for a week, it's a strange one, very Doggie friendly, great for us, very good for the elderly, the room was very nice comfy and very very hot! the bathroom had no ventilation at all , no window and the lead pipes were very hot all the time, no fan either, but it was a hot...
