Very well located just off the promenade. Friendly service and interesting building with lots of royal memerobilia. A quirky fawlty towers though quite expensive £300 for 2 nights for a family of 4. A good break

It took a long time to check in because of the Receptionist being on the telephone. The room was clean but not easily accessible because of stairs both up and down. The indoor swimming pool was great and warm - we had it to ourselves. The food was well prepared but of a plain variety. Clients seemed to return regularly. A... More

Thank you for making a review. We apologise for your wait at check in with Reception processing a reservation, thank you for your patience. It is good to bring more notice to the online fraternity about our up and down corridor; when booking direct with us at reception over the telephone we are very careful to allocate the most suitable... Stayed here because we had enjoyed lunch with friends about three years ago. Very disappointing - breakfast poor, very cold public rooms, small bedrooms, decoration of public rooms poor (not changed in three years), food in restaurant awful. Decided to rent a Regency town house at half the price in November that was 10 times better. Sorry Hilary - not... More

Wishing a Healthy & Happy New Year to all our Guests many of whom become Glen family, I was disappointed too ; we take all our reviews very seriously, and really try to act on constructive criticism, to receive a review on Dec 29th for a stay in June; I question the helpfulness in this to staff & family or... I stayed at the Royal Glen for 4 nights with my 10 year old daughter and 7 month old baby. There was plenty of parking. On check in there wasn't anyone to help with my bags. As you can imagine I had quite a bit with a baby but it wasn't to much of a problem and I managed, luckily... More

Stayed at this Hotel for a week, it's a strange one, very Doggie friendly, great for us, very good for the elderly, the room was very nice comfy and very very hot! the bathroom had no ventilation at all , no window and the lead pipes were very hot all the time, no fan either, but it was a hot... I would like to thank you for your review, it was in the main constructive criticism & we all (staff and owners) have a genuine wish to continue to strive for a good, consistent service in a happy family atmosphere. I was actually touched with your last comment, which summed up our efforts to share 'the Glen ' with ALL More

My wife and myself decided to take a last minute break in Sidmouth and we chose the Royal Glen Hotel via their website. Booking by phone was very easy and dealt with by a very pleasant and friendly lady. We decided to book a superior room with dinner and breakfast and arrived to be taken to a very nice, large... Thank you very much for making your review. We are very disappointed that the evening meal on Sunday was not up to your expectations. We can only assure you that the loin of pork , and corner cut of beef is supplied from a local butcher and that the fresh potatoes roasted in lard & beef dripping are cooked in... More

Stayed at the Royal Glen for a long weekend in July. Very difficult to find fault with any of the weekend stay. The décor and furnishings sit perfectly with the age of the building. Facilities both in our room and generally at the Royal Glen are good. We used the pool- thoroughly enjoyed it. Has a nice little bar area,... More

We stayed at this Hotel for the first time this year, staying four nights plus breakfast. A historical building in tranquil surroundings, a short walk to the town and even a shorter walk to the seafront. We had a standard room, overlooking the garden area. We found it quiet and peaceful, the bedroom a reasonable size, nothing too modern or... More

3 trips to Sidmouth in the space of 21 days and 2 stays at The Royal Glen. We arrived quite late, early Sunday morning the first time, to be greeted by Mrs Bess who was waiting up to book us in. This is a lovely hotel with friendly staff and excellent breakfasts. Would certainly stay again.
