Hotel (Edwardian?)is set in large well maintained gardens and is well positioned for easy access to Sidmouth town. Generally faultless with regard to room, breakfast and indoor pool. Breakfast in particular included almost everything one would expect with a full English supplemented by a menu for those who preferred something different. Smoked haddock topped with poached egg was excellent. Small... More

We had a super break last weekend. The staff worked hard to make our stay comfortable. The food was excellent. The pool as ever great. We are in easy walking distance of the front and of other sights. A great time.

I stayed at this hotel over an extended period of time in 2014. It is very reasonably priced, in nice grounds, very close to Sidmouth town centre, and with a great indoor pool. Rooms are ok, some better than others. Staff are very pleasant and professional. The only issue I had was local management deciding to refuse to honour my... More

Stayed here overnight after attending social event locally. Room was spacious with TV and chairs. Did not get chance to use pool. Stayed in room with just a sink. Found only 1 bathroom along a corridor past about 10 rooms. There was a toilet in the bathroom and next door but the flush was temperamental. Therefore if staying here when... More

Delighted at their ability to fit us in at short notice and value for money was excellent, incredibly reasonable prices. Breakfast was superb but loss of a hairdryer was not followed up despite promises to get back to me with any answer. Arriving verylate at night, was dying for a beer but there was no bar, such a disappointment, but... More

Along with 40 others from Fleet Methdoist we just spent a superb weekend at Sidholme and as a home from home I cannot recommend it highly enough... Great value for groups too. We loved the food, the service, the fabulous facilities and the swimming pool which was warmer than the Caribbean!

Booked this hotel on Booking.com without knowing it was a Christian retreat. It was the beautiful grounds that interested me plus the grand Victorian building. My daughter and I arrived very late and crept into our room, which was large with ornate stained glass windows and office space plus en suite facilities. The view in the morning was stunning from... Sidholme is about a ten minute walk from the sea front but for anyone not wishing to walk there are frequent buses passing by. I stayed there with a group for a weekend and we received a very courteous and friendly welcome. The house is full of character and situated in a quiet location, surrounded by lovely gardens. I had... More

This is a beautiful place to stay. No noise, no traffic, beautiful grounds, heated pool. We stayed in the annex at this hotel, which is set up like a hostel. Three bathrooms close to our room, which we shared. The main building is a hotel with ensuits. The price was the cheapest we found during our trip through the UK.... More
