this is our 12th year at Sidholme and usually it is great good to meet up with friends etc. But this year oh what a shock when it came to dinner i felt like i had stepped back into the 1960s. The food was just how i remember my old school dinners frozen veg lukewarm food, the only thing missing... More

First the plus points: Lovely location, fantastic (and little-used - bonus!!) private heated swimming pool, great free snooker table (full-size), excellent choice of breakfasts (evening meals were nice if a little pricey for what they were), definitely family-friendly/tolerent, wonderful front-of-house restaurant staff and a real Edwardian atmosphere. What let the hotel down was its dated decor. Apparently on course for... More

Room in the annexe was disappointing and dated. Bathroom was big, but nasty avocado suite and toilet seat that didn't match. Twin beds only were available. Service when we ordered a drink was painfully slow, as there's no bar and he had to get everything from the back room. This could all have been forgiven, had I not pulled back... More

We booked two rooms for two nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and they made us feel very welcome! The hotel benefits from the huge garden and the swimming pool which was of decent size. We will definitely return to Sidholme hotel in the future.

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel. When I booked, the hotel messed up my reservation meaning that I had to change my room after the first night. Upon arrival, the receptionist "Rhod" was friendly enough with his long tie that looked like he had been given a peanut and his awkward spin he kept doing when me and my mates... More

We sadly only stayed the one night, BUT it was a perfect night. The whole experience was relaxing, which is just what we needed. The wonderful grand stairway up to the rooms was very impressive, as were the fabulous gardens, which were so neat and well kept. The staff were extremely polite and not over attentive. The twin room en... More

This is a fantastic place to bring children. The grounds were absolutely stunning. It's not everyday that one could pay such a low price at a fantastic hotel and enjoy breathtaking views. There was a real sense of community here. Everyone said hello to each other which I found lovely, very very lovely. The swimming pool - both the adult's... More

We spent one night at the Sidholme Hotel. Had an easy check in and the customer service was great. We were lucky to get a room with a TV as I understand that not many rooms have a TV. The bath room contained a bath/shower, the bath was great but the water pressure for the shower was lacking in fact... More

Great value for money. If you want expensive luxury - go elsewhere. If you want great gardens, a superb swimming pool, snooker room, and easy access to the beach and wonderful coast walks, all at a reasonable price - this is the place for you. Ok, it might be a little dated, but that only added to the charm. Any... More

We had an overnight stop at Sidmouth as we needed to see a local tradesman. The Sidholme was just perfect for our needs. Secluded in woodland yet from our room you could see the sea. The rooms are simple, somewhat dated, but spotlessly clean and comfortable. We stayed in a basic room which was great value. The building is old... More
