Recommended by a friend we would certainly visit again. Although not on the sea front where most of the hotels are, this hotel overlooks and is adjacent to, The Byes - parkland with a lovely walk next to the river Sid. Although I understand not all rooms are, ours was spacious and adapted for disabled holidaymakers with a balcony looking... More

We were staying at the Hunters Moon for Folk Week - first time in a hotel for this week after 30 years of camping for the same week, so a big upgrade for us! We had a friendly welcome and shown to our rooms promptly after minimum fuss for checking in. The breakfast had an excellent choice, helping yourself to... More

First impressions were that this hotel had a more than adequate car park, which for us is a must. We were given a friendly welcome and help with our bags to our room. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast and dinner are more than adequate. Breakfast has a good selection of continental and buffet items for those wanting... More

We have stayed a few times now at Hunters Moon to coincide with family holidays in the area. We always receive a warm welcome. Our room for our most recent stay was on the ground floor with a balcony overlooking the large gardens. The room was light and airy with a large bathroom, the beds were comfortable and the room... We have recently returned from a three night stay at Hunters Moon Hotel. We were met throughout with a very friendly welcome from all staff and management. The food presented to us was of the highest standard. Waiting staff were most efficient and meals were presented promptly. The situation of the Hotel is second to none being set in large... More

We stayed for a couple of nights Bed Breakfast & evening meal. First time at this hotel. Immediate impressions were that it looks very tired now (a faded past) with worn carpets and in need of a refurbishment throughout. the bedrooms desperately need bringing up to date. Meals are ok but strictly the meat and two veg home cooking variety,... More

My wife and I are just completing a weeks stay here and this is about the 10th visit to Hunters Moon. There have been hiccups on occasions, but by and large we enjoy coming here. A warm welcome always awaits and the staff make you feel at home from the off. Nothing is too much trouble and if you wish... More

We stayed at the Hunters Moon Hotel for two nights. We asked for another room with a shower cubicle and were given Room 33. This is a nice ground floor room with big en-suite and excellent shower. However a huge drawback of this room is the noise from the room above. The ceiling creaks and groans whenever anybody moves around... More

My wife and I stayed with my elderly father and were very impressed. My father has mobility difficulties and had room 18 which is well equipped with a walk-in wetroom, handles around the toilet etc. We had room 31. The bathrooms in both cases appeared to have been refurbished recently using good quality fittings - the showers worked well and... More

The hotel is in beautiful grounds, themselves bordering on the open parkland of the Byes and is reasonably close to the town centre and sea. The hotel is, I guess, a little dated but the rooms are perfectly ok and comfy. Breakfasts were excellent and the staff most pleasant and helpful. All in all a happy stay. Will return.
